My PDK just died again

Edit: Adding to this that the PDK as a unit is completely agnostic to the car it's in provided it's matched to the model (i.e. it's for a 997.2). So either your tech is lying to your face or he's full of it. Sounds harsh but these type of misstatements (that *always* seem to limit customer choices rather than broaden them) happen way too often.

Adding here that the P730 ratio fault means the input and output speed sensors don't match. It's kind of an odd fault to see when coupled with the overtemp fault as it usually means a speed sensor failure. Hopefully it's just some sort of false fault that got triggered by the temp faults. Worst case scenario is that the clutch failed and is slipping (causing the P730 ratio fault) and all that slipping heated up the fluid to cause the overtemp faults.
Any signs of slipping before the fault was triggered?

No slippage, until the entire car was slowed to stop, then had limp, slippage till got up to speed. was asked that by the dealer techs!
this was after the trouble code came on!

Going back a ways ... There have been a bunch of PDK failures that ended up being bad coils. The 997.2 coils are pretty good but can fail, especially if the car experienced salted roadways. Arcing at the coils disrupts the sensitive ground in the car's electronics and can create sensor errors that get misdiagnosed by the computers.
A poor battery can also create chaos. Computers and sensors depend on good power supplies and that starts with the battery (and connections).

I had mentioned the coils.

Yes, and it's not just car shops as honesty is plummeting across institutions in recent years. I have to tell you I hate it as it concerns me about the world my kids will inherit.
Anyways, I think I was personally responsible for getting a thread deleted yesterday for mouthing off this subject (i.e. the importance of acknowledging truth) so I'll put a sock in it. Glad to know I'm not the only one seeing it though.

Bad news, so far not repairable from dealer and Indy here. May have to sell the car as is or bite the bullet for replacement PDK at a high price.
anyone interested in a pristine Black 997.2S with 63,700 miles. CarPlay, rear camera, Das Shield, remotekey, sport classic wheels, toe hook front plate, renntech phone mount,
clear bra front, on headlights and mirror backs, front grill screens and a rear plate backup sensor, sport Exhaust with button in console ashtray
offers accepted.
any suggestions as to what to do with the car??

So why aren't you getting any warranty coverage for your failed sensor?
