Default PDK - Defective Temperature Sensor Crimp - Repair Procedure

Hi folks,

Info about this has been posted in other threads (e.g. PV997's PDK repair thread), but thought it might be useful to have a single thread specifically focused on this particular failure, might make it easier to 'pop' if someone is searching/finding...

First thanks to @Janton9736 for posting the repair-procedure at the following. A copy is attached for quick reference...

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post16183150

Per the attached, if the temperature sensor crimp starts to fail, the user can experience the following errors:
...
  • Warning message "Gearbox emergency operation"
  • P0711 with P17F0/P17F1/P17F2
  • P172D by itself or with P17F1/P17F2/P17F2

Porsche published a Service Bulletin (attached) with the following IDs:
...
  • NHTSA ID: 10108671
  • Porsche TSB ID: 122-W9N9W-06

The repair specifies the following parts:
...
More details in the attached.

Note that it references "3730 - Flow charts for PDK fault codes", link here - https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...43332-8620.pdf

And of course PV997's thread has additional details (e.g. the utter ridiculous guidance to replace the transmission if there's a few loose strands) - https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...nsmission.html

Karl.

PS: If anyone spots an error or omission, please shout out so I can update this post.

PPS: Beck's European has seen a case here a bad PDK Speed Sensor resulted in a P17F1 error, more details here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post18619629
