I think I'm the only one who likes the partial leather, i bet the leather on the dash gets real pricey to fix in the next ten years for those of us that are keeping them for life.

There were so many 997s sold I bet it wouldn't be hard to buy a leather dash from a non-airbag deploying wrench, but have never looked since both of mine even after 18 years look perfect.

I am not a fan of full/extended leather in any vehicle for the reason you mentioned as well the additional upkeep.

With proper care the leather should last--how many old leather briefcases are floating around? It all about the right dashboard treatment product. Any suggestions? I use a leather preservative from Opti-care but I am always looking for somethng better.
My 85 has extended leather with the warped underlay but I haven't had it that long. I need to replace it.

I have used 303 on the dash but some expert somewhere said Opti-Coat Protectorant Plus was the deal. I use it now but time will tell. Easier to use.

My 22+ year old merino leather briefcase has never been subjected to the kind of UV and heat that my autos are though.
I still prefer Zaino’s leather cleaner and conditioner as it revitalizes that new leather smell.
