Thank you. I am very familiar with the rennlist crowd, that is why I wasn't sure whether to post it or not. I understand that the 20 minute format is not for everyone, but that is what he chose and the series seems to be doing well. I think with time this may evolve into something like the incredible Petrolicious series, this was my favourite car related content to watch before it got cancelled/sold.
If you were buying a 997, and ready to drop 70-90K usd of your hard earned money, a video like this would be, and is a thrill to watch.
Also, love your IG content.
What's too long for some, is too short for others (thats what she said 😂

See I can totally understand the mkiv supra vs the latest one because that was a major sea change. That at least makes sense. But some clowns in the 992 forum are now talking "992.1 is the last 911 with an analog tachometer." as if that makes any difference whatsoever to the ownership or driving experience. I think someone above nailed it, the 911 is so iterative, they are just trying to justify what makes their car special, likely mostly in their own head, but whatever.
It's easy to point out the deltas on the 911 since it's been in production for over 58 years and similar to other cars like the Vette, Suburban, S Class, Mustang, Camaro, Range Rover etc. I see the Corvette guys saying the C7 is the "last of the FR" compared to the C8. Ferrari with the F430, "last of the" gated 6.
Wow, tough crowd. Before I posted it I gave it some serious thought about how rennlist would take it and whether I should post it here... and boom there it is lol. It's so difficult to find quality content on the 997 platform, I think Prabhul did an amazing job, the point of the series is that its a story about that particular car and owner, not about the 997 in general. 2 minute video telling a story? If you have a tough time watching a video that's over 2 minutes, perhaps A.D.D. medication is in order...
I guess everyone can go back to discussing IMS issues, bore scoring, and which battery tender works best...

At lot of the 90's cars as well, NSX, 300ZX TT, RX-7, E36 M3 to name a few because they were basic inside; just what you needed to drive. No huge tablet plopped in the middle of the dash, no flashy dash graphics etc. I could see that as I do miss the analog gauges with an actual mechanical needle moving around; some not even accurate or not even working at all like on the air cooled 911's. It's just adds to the patina and it's age. I remember test driving a 993 as potential purchase and the AC worked when it felt like it. Reaching over to switch the HVAC was blocked by the steering wheel and one has to lean over to reach the radio ***** (I'm 6'2 too). It wasn't perfect and back then, you just dealt with it b/c that's how they designed it.

I hope you didn't interpret my post as being an a**hole post. It's a good video but maybe it's a Canadian thing to sit down have an actual interview through majority of the video. j/k Maybe more driving and ripping around town for the next vid.

IMO nobody cares about watching some yah-hoo jacking off about their car and some ****** interviewer gobbling it up for 20 minutes.
Instead of calling people names and insulting the 997 Forum, next time post something with creativity or something more appealing that has substance and you might be a happy camper with better comments/results.
I think most of us laughed when we saw the License plate on the front bumper. Just a big no-no as it means holes in bumper and or dents from LP holder.

I enjoyed watching it. Listening to people tell stories about their cars and their journey is what makes this hobby fun.
My one critique of the video is that "film" part of the video was short and all of the scenes from the film were cut in during the interview, so it didnt feel like watching something new/special at the end.

I liked the vid .. I'm not a mod guy but I love any new 997 content . I like hearing different Porsche perspectives and tastes .... At the end of the day we are all ICE car guys which in itself will be a dying breed to talk about in the near distant future.
