Unhappy Carpet bleached - easiest solution

My husband put our cleaning bucket in the back of my car when we moved. Needless to say the carpet behind the back passenger seat now has bleach stains - big bleach stains. My interior is sand beige. What is the easiest solution - replace the carpet (if so, how) or purchase spray dye? My plan was to sell my baby when I have to being driving to work (to many miles). It's a 2012 997.2 with 59K miles, white exterior, sports chrono package.

I would try sem first. If you cant find a color on their charts, try calling them.

My rear carpet looked badly sun bleached. Not garaged at the time, for many yaers.

After getting a serious detail, it was black again.

I asked the guy what he used to get it looking soo good.

A vacuum. Ha.

1. Order new carpets and have them installed which will require a lot of labor. $$$$
2. Find an auto upholstery shop and ask them to dye it to a color that best matches. Less $$$
3. Sell car to dealer and let them deal with it. They will have their upholstery vendor fix it prior to reselling the car.

Or sell the car on here with the flaw and let the new owner sort it out.

I wouldn’t pass on a car because of this.

2009 C2S 182K miles

I recommend dye. You can contact any car dealer and ask them who they use to prep their used cars. There is a large cottage industry of fixers out there tweaking up used car interiors (and exteriors)... they do leather and interior parts and such.

Peace

+1

If it's that big of an eyesore, just replace the entire rear carpet. If it's not that big of a blemish, try using carpet dye.

I second NXT’s recommendation, if you are planning on selling the car let the next owner decide just how much to invest, just like putting on new tire before selling, likely it cost you more than the future custodian wants to reimburse you and doesn’t like your choice anyway unless they are N OEM replacement tires. Cheers

Easy? Purchase some color matched Carpet Paint. I've used ColorBond with great success. It's important to recommend blending the carpet paint instead of trying to spray large sections. You'll get too much and it won't match. Basically, get a brand new foam sponge. Spray a small amount of carpet paint into a bowl. Dab the sponge into the carpet paint and then begin applying it at the bleached spot and blending outwards in a circular fashion using a dabbing technique. Think about it like applying base makeup to your face. Good luck!

Cocomat rear parcel shelf mat, along with all the other mats. Certainly the "easiest" to just cover it and forget it happened. New owner can deal with it if they feel it necessary.
