Charleston, SC Friends
I’m currently on the edge/shadows of the 997 market (specifically .2 C2S convertible) in the ‘heavy research’ phase. During this time, I’ve been compiling information, following/lurking this board closely, tracking the market, etc. My wife and I will be moving from Boston to Charleston, SC over the next 12-18 months and that’s when I plan on getting into the market in earnest. Hopefully locate a 'southern car' in a somewhat more ‘stable’ market (we’ll see). Anyway, I’m reaching out to see who lives in the general CHS area and could recommend local specialists. Unlike many of you, I’m not a wrencher so gonna have to fund my addiction. I’d like to identify and build relationships with trusted experts in the CHS area. Below are a few names that have come up in my search, but unclear about reputations, etc. Any insights would be great. For some background, I'm not looking to track the car or heavily mod it. It would be a second car that would get a lot of use and spirited road trips, etc. My plan is to enjoy, keep, and maintain until I can't. Lastly, for those in the CHS area, would be great to ‘virtually’ meet you. Thanks. This is an amazing resource & community.

I've used European Road & Racing for a few things and had a good experience and will continue to go back as my single independent. Karl Troy is a certified LN Solution installer which is why I initially went to him, and is close in the central North Charleston area.
There's a few Cars & Coffee meets around the area, every Saturday in Mount Pleasant, West Ashley hosts theirs on Sunday mornings. The third and probably has one of the bigger turnouts is Ale and Octane at New Realm Brewing.
If you join PCA there are also various local events they host like a Sunday brunch, cruises, etc.
Best of luck on your search!

Autometrics should absolutely be at the top of your list of independent Porsche shops in the Charleston area. Their new facility in Summerville is a sight to behold for any fan of Porsche automobiles, and worth a visit on your next trip to Charleston. Although the largest part of their business is devoted to race team support, they are also a trusted, reliable, and fairly priced resource for service and repair on non-tracked Porsches.
