I have a Sharkwerks on my GTS. I've been impressed with the build quality and sound.

Here are a few recordings... https://www.gtsence.com/997-gts-vs-9...-making-noise/

Unfortunately I don't have any recordings that compare the sound of the 997 with and without the Sharkwerks... just the 991 vs 997 comparison in the link above. I still prefer the sound of the 997.

Had the SW + Gundo on my 997.2 and loved it. Have since moved to the FVD Street-Sport setup as I've brought the car down a more dedicated sports car path and wanted a bit more volume & drama.

I was hesitant to make the switch as I was worried I would lose the magical flat-6 tone of the SW + Gundo, which I loved so much. Despite many claiming the FVD retained that tone, I have to say some has been lost a bit with the FVD. The FVD setup is louder, which I wanted, but the tone is a bit more "boomy" than the SW + Gundo, which was pure magic. If there was a way to keep the exact tone of the SW + Gundo and just turn the volume up ~30%, it would be perfection imo. In all honesty, the SW (or any bypass) + Gundo/PSE is likely plenty loud for most.

There are different approaches to the bypass. SW, Top Gear, Billy Boat, all use cross-over pipes whereas Fabspeed, SOUL, and some others use an x-pipe design. I can't imagine that any similarly constructed bypass would sound different to any other. I also can't imagine you would be let down by any bypass pipe with your PSE.

Just curious what kind of configuration that is on a 997.1 since the .1 cars don't have a center muffler which is what the various x-pipes replaces.

Same here. Highly subjective but I think the PSE/Sharkwerks combination is hard to beat. I've heard some other options, none of which made me think of switching.

The 997.1 has two catalytic converters that twist/invert from each side to the muffler. The Xpipe does the same thing except in a neater way, Cat or no cat. Also improves air flow/exhaust by utilizing a single X system opposed to the twisting nature of two single cats.

Complete Fabspeed system with 200 cell cats on my supercharged .1 c2s. Great sound, performance, and no codes.

I would advise against the Sharkwerks unit. I purchased a one new in 2020 and installed it on my '09 997.2.

One of the mounting brackets had a faulty weld resulting in perforation of one of the main tubes. It caused an exhaust leak in that location, and due to the soot produced by the DFI engine, it was always a mess.

The problem was caused by less than skilled welding work coupled with very thin material that the unit is comprised of.

On such a simple piece of hardware, something like that should have never happened - or at a minimum should have been caught and rectified in a QA check process.

997.2 C4S PDK / 53K miles
Sharkwerks with Fister ceramic coated mufflers (Gundo) here: Sound tone is a little flatter than I would like but I have to remind myself I don't have 200 cell cats nor is my car a GT. I guess I would like a bit more "rip" sound like the GT cars. All this being said build quality on my Sharkwerks is great, the Fisters are very well finished, and there is literally no drone at any rev range. I would do this change again.

The first thing i thought of was sharkwerks because I've only heard of one failure in all the cars it's been on. I think ironman was the one I was thinking of. Other than that unit it seems to be a pretty bullet proof way to do it. I don't think I've heard anybody really saying anything bad about the other options. Billy boat one has some fitment issues but most guys know ahead of time before they buy it. Fabspeed is great and I don't think there's ever been a problem with their x pipe its just not as widely used as the SW. A little pricier.

I have a sharkwerks. Bought it from supreme power in california. They're great.

Complete Cargraphic exhaust. Mufflers, 200 cell X-Pipe and longtube headers. I feel like the prices were in line with exhaust systems. I am thinking that I’ve had them on the car for the past 20-30k miles.

I have the PSE/Sharkwerks combo and really like it. It's effective but not over-the-top. LOVE the howl when I put my foot into it. Sorry to hear of @Ironman88 's issue. I'm hoping that was a one-off.
