Default X pipe connection.

Question… I have the Milltek center muffler delete (X-Pipe) on my 11 C4S PDK. Love the sound but would like to lose the raspiness at high rpms.
I’m looking to have a connection welded in to join the two pipes. Has anyone done this? If so, what was the result? Better, smoother tone, worse raspiness, no difference?
Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

Just be careful with the 997.2 Top Speed headers with cats as my experience in 2020 was terrible.
Install was a PITA as they didn't fit up perfectly and required some heat/bend to get them to fit (on the passenger side).

Afterwards they sounded amazing! And with the Gundo and Sharkwerks I was very happy.
But on my second track day with them I noticed my car was losing power and sputtering down the track.
Limped home and next day took it to my indy mechanic.

We changed the plugs, coilpacks thinking that was the issue.
Luckily my mechanic (who is amazing) put a camera into the O2 bung and looked at the headers and discovered the problem.
The cat honeycomb material on one side had completely broken apart and was sitting sideways blocking the exhaust flow.
And on the other side the cat material was still in place but no longer fixed to the outer walls and you could rattle it around... so it was very close to failure.
I contacted the Top Speed dealer (in Florida) and they offered me a Catless set with a refund for the difference which I accepted.
But I only kept them on the car for a couple months before selling them. The smell and overall sound was not what I wanted.

Since then I found a lightly used set of Fabspeed Headers with HJC Cats and they have been perfect.
The sound is incredible and I have no issues with them for almost 2 years.

Curious why the flex joints, as those seem to be points of failure in exhaust systems, at least on Cayennes where they're used. Never seen them on a 997 cat though I'm sure they make alignment and installation easier.

I run a SOUL X-Pipe and gundo hacks on my 997.2 S Non-PSE exhauast. I amd going to add our headers with Sport Cats this summer as the icing on the cake if I don't sell the car. It sounds fantastic.

The X-Pipe is a great and relatively inexpensive mod you absolutely can't go wrong with.

DM me with questions or to get a hold of Rennlist pricing!

They are simply for ease of alignment/installation.

Milltek Bypass (same than Sharkwerks) with PSE.
Nice combo: sound with bypass and closed valves around the same than without bypass and opened valves.
Bypass and opened valves is perfect for me
