I have the PSE/Sharkwerks combo and really like it. It's effective but not over-the-top. LOVE the howl when I put my foot into it. Sorry to hear of @Ironman88 's issue. I'm hoping that was a one-off.

I remember reading about one other similar situation. May have been someone new or unfamiliar with the welding process that did the work. I remember that Sharkwerks did reach out to that person and addressed the situation. I don't know what the outcome was - removal / repair / re-installation. It had to have been somewhat involved.

I would advise against the Sharkwerks unit. I purchased a one new in 2020 and installed it on my '09 997.2.
One of the mounting brackets had a faulty weld resulting in perforation of one of the main tubes. It caused an exhaust leak in that location, and due to the soot produced by the DFI engine, it was always a mess.
The problem was caused by less than skilled welding work coupled with very thin material that the unit is comprised of.
On such a simple piece of hardware, something like that should have never happened - or at a minimum should have been caught and rectified in a QA check process.

@Precision438 I've deleted the center muffler on two 997.2 cars now and on the GTS I actually think the bypass reduces the change in volume between PSE on and off. Also, whether on or off, the change from stock is very subtle and depending on what sound you're after, doing just the center bypass might not get you there. The biggest change in volume and tone is to replace the cats with 200 cell units or bypasses.
Do the 200 cell cats and you'll get more of a GT car rip sound. For times when you don't want it, just turn the PSE off and it's much quieter.

Wild guess but maybe you were just unlucky. I say that since I've had three Sharkwerks systems now with none of the problems you describe. Also the first I've read and heard of your issues with the brand. No affiliation with SW. Just feedback for what it's worth with a combined 80K miles between the three systems referred to.
I think others should take note and not assume it will not happen again. Justification for carefully examining the product prior to installing it.

I have sharkwerks + fisters. Sound is good enough without being too obnoxious. My wife says the cold start can wake up the neighborhood but honestly I don’t think it’s that loud! Can get some nice burbling when managing the throttle properly in low gear and speed. No problems with this set up since install.

Here are a couple vids of my car: one with Top Gear center muffler bypass and the second with the CMB + Top Speed performance headers with 200-cell cats. Both are standing start and idling. The real magic happens above 4K RPM.

Have a Topgear X pipe on my 11 C2S that I'm happy with. Increased sound a little but not enough to be annoying. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...r-997-2-a.html
