How do you drive your car? Do you routinely push it? If not, A/S won't matter.

I don’t do crazy stupid stuff on the street so 7/10 and below. We’ll see.

I’ll chime in. I have Yokohama Advan Sport A/S +’s and they are great.

The 285 would have been fine, especially for a RWD car.

However I won’t argue someone out of buying summer tires. 🤣😂
A 997 with 265/40/18 from the factory? I was always under the impression that base 997's came with 295's and S cars with 305's.

997.2 C2 base wheels/tires are 235/40-18 front, 265/40-18 rear.

as for all seasons, I have the Michelin AS3+ on my 1985 911. That permits me to drive it in cold weather, but I don’t drive it in snow or if there is salt on the road. I drive it pretty hard, and I think the tires are fine.

I run summer tires on my 997.2, but I’m giving some thought to A/S on that car so I can drive it more often in the winter. I would very likely go that route if I ever sold my 1985 911 because I don’t think I would tolerate long stretches in the winter without being able to drive a 911. Mike

ideally it would be summers and winters but for me, after a decade or two of swapping out tires on multiple cars it’s just becoming a hassle I can do without especially if you don’t have severe winters and fall/spring are long seasons with rain.

Where did you find these? I'm having a really hard time finding the Proxes anywhere in these sizes

BB Wheels. They’re out of Minnesota. I had never heard of them but they seem to have been around a while. Was chatting with the sales person and I think he said Toyo is their number one brand or something like that. Seem to have more selection of toyo tires than anyone else I found. What’s more odd is that now that I’ve found tires for the 911, I can’t find A/S for the cayman.

Hey @workhurts I just got quoted for the Toyo Proxes. How have they been holding up for you? My main concern is road noise as I had heard they were rather loud per reviews but you would have best feedback!

Hard to tell. Doubt I have more than 1k miles on them plus I have a gundo hack, center bypass, plenum and fabspeed intake ... so my car is kinda loud on its own. I do like the fact that I can go out in 30-50 degree whether and feel confident in the tires.

Here is an option for a budget tire, if you have any interest in going that route.
Atlas Force UHP

I've had the Toyo Proxes A/S since 2020. I think they are great tires and will get them again. For me I don't think they are any louder than the Bridgestones that were on there before. I think Michelins are probably the quitest, but not A/S.

Oh and my car is a stock Cab (well PSE) but nothing else. If that helps any on road noise.

I have Continental Extreme Contact DWS06; 235/35-19 front, 285/35-19 rear. They're fine for my needs.
