If you don’t use they PASM I’d go Ohlins.
Their shocks are truly amazing.

Its either Eibach + stock, or B16 for me. I don't see anyone mentioning KW...a local Porsche shop does, but not sure I like their opinion (KW made of superior materials).

I'm doing the install myself as I understand you can do the swap without the use of spring compressors. My 997 is my second weekend car, so its ok if I'm on jackstands for a couple of weekends.
If going stock with Eibachs, you should never take apart a suspension strut without spring compressors ! They're cheap - go get a set from Harbor Freight or rent a set from the Auto Parts Store. If swapping the complete strut for the B16s you may not need them unless reusing the top mounts from the old struts.

^^^ 100%. I have seen A LOT of weird mishaps from this where people thought putting two wheels between and loosening would stop it from blasting off. Luckily, I have not seen someone get severely hurt but I have seen parts and cars get damaged.

If you go Eibach onto stock struts, if memory serves you could get the top mounts back on without a spring compressor because the springs are shorter, obvs. But if you are reusing the stock top mounts (and other hardware), you definitely need a spring compressor. There's a lot of energy in those springs when they are loaded on strut!

I read some threads about KWs and one 997 Turbo guy was complaining about the spring rates being too soft, and bottoming out his car on a ride.

I like Ohlins as a brand, never used them, but don't they have like a 30,000km rebuild interval?

I have the Ohlins R&Ts and the "street use" maintenance interval is 30,000km.
[Sure love the infinite adjustability of the coilover ride height and would love them even more if that could be combined with PASM/DSC.]
