Default Warning light and roof rack questions and help

First, I was driving in to work this morning and I had a warning message pop up in my instrument cluster which had a circle and said "Limit 37". I can't find anything on this. It came up several times during a 3 mile commute to work. Car kept driving fine without any problems. Any ideas what it could be?

Second, I installed my roof racks, and one of the bolts gave as I was tightening it. I don't think I was being too forceful, and all the other bolts I thought were similarly tight. So, the bolt gave, it scared me, so I went back to gently re-tightening it and it seemed to bite fine but I obviously didn't tighten it as forcefully as I did the first time. So the question is, did I ruin the anchor on the roof? Is my roof rack going to fly off at speed?

Would greatly appreciate any help with either of these issues.

Sounds like to you have a speed alert programed into the car.

I did drive up to 45 but the message didn't pop up at the faster speed. It would turn on, last a couple of seconds and disappear. Will go through my menus and check that I don't have anything of the sort enabled. Thanks

You should be able to adjust that (or turn off) with your multi function screen.

Thanks, I will go over it. I did set the multi function screen to German because if looked cooler, more appropriate for my German car but now I have no idea what it says, so maybe I changed something I shouldn't have.

LOL. I do that to people's iPhones when they leave them laying around at parties. And rental cars.

Lol, did that to friends long term rental with Sirius, programmed every button to the sex talk channel. BTW I had rentals every week for 25 yrs, don’t ever buy one. I won’t admit to every act of sin I did, but no way engine or transmission could last after purchase.

The PO of my car had it set to 80 mph. I did the “fly in and drive half way across the country home” when I bought mine. I was so paranoid driving an unfamiliar car so far. That damned beep going off every time I broke the 80 mph barrier gave me mini anxiety attacks for a few seconds every time. Quickly figured out how to shut that off.

Alright, just drove home and I guess while messing with that paddle I did set a warning, or limit,,,,,,,,,at 37mph. It is now disabled and I just learned something. Thank you so much LexVan!

Roof rack can be a pain the ***. There are two holes to mount it. What I do is just tighten until I feel a bite. It has done what you have said numerous times and none worse for the wear.

Thank you Kellen, I was worried I had killed the anchor and would have to have things welded or not be able to use the rack, or my roof top box flying off!

No problem. I feel the same way every time I put it on. Usually one bolt is a pain.

No welding needed! Check out this thread:

The parts are really cheap.
