Default 997.2 C4S

So fortunate to drive this amazing vehicle:
* beautiful lines, curves, sport chrono pkg plus, PASM, and 6 spd manual. What more can you ask for!
* meteor grey metallic , black interior, heated/cooled seats and heated steering wheel is a must have on the east and west coast!
* plenty of torque (especially in daily traffic in Los Angles -- but a 992 Turbo may also be in my future
* Planted - it's a C4S - enough said. I'm told that I can simply adjust the handbrake to disengage FwD to make it a rear wheel drive and more loose, but I honestly prefer to be more planted when cornering, rowing and pushing top speed.
* DSC, PS4S, PASM, and improved throttle control makes a difference.
* I still don't feel the need to jump off the line from a signal, unless of course a Prius, minivan or Tesla driver has an attitude problem!
* looking into adding apple car play. Perhaps Porsche will add PCM 3.0 as a classic upgrade soon, otherwise curious about NM Automotive WiFi product with rear camera.
* Performance exhaust, open sunroof and carbon package, and price appreciation makes me 😊

Do the nm automotive. It’s a nice upgrade. Besides that some aftermarket exhaust with a center bypass as well.

Congrats. Had the same car except it was the -09 launch edition with the GT2 carbon bucket seats, full leather and PDK. No mention of what if anything has been done to the exhaust on your car. The .2 cars are notoriously quiet, like the Prius you mentioned sitting next to at the stoplight . Unless you like the quiet buzz of the bone stock 997.2 exhaust this may be something to look into. Transforms the car to sound like a Porsche. Endless options.

Agree.

Need to find a shop near me in So Cal that will install the NM Automotive CarPlay and rear camera upgrade. If anyone can recommend, please let me know. Del Rey Customs in Marina Del Rey was on my list to call - but they are no longer in business. Read that it can take a couple of hours to install if you already know what your doing.

For exhaust, the car has PSE...and I absolutely love it (especially with windows down and sunroof open so you can hear it comes to life).

If you have pse get the center bypass. You will be amazed.

I did my own install of the nm automotive. Not hard at all. If you can follow instructions and change your oil you can do this.

I believe just by pulling the e brake up one click it makes the car rear wheel drive only.

The 997.2 was heavily modified from the .1 cars. This included the AWD. This trick will not work on .1 cars. But it has been reported many times for the .2 cars. I've been waiting to get on snow or ice to personally verify (experience) it. I have seen various videos that show the behavior. It appears to be real.

Apparently the "emergency brake trick" is one of the best kept secrets of a C4S. 1-click and woala!

I have a 09 C4S 6speed and have been following this forum for like 12 years. If I pull my e brake up one click it turns into RWD only? I have never heard this mentioned.

First thing to pop up was ...

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-on-a-c4s.html

Then there's this ...

https://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/07/...-in-carrera-4/

There have also been posts on 6 Speed.

And this ...

And this ...

There was a guy in the UK with a YouTube channel that showed his how he could convert to 2WD in a snowy parking lot but I don't see it right now.
