So, what happens when Porsche goes all battery power with the 911? How will you feel about swapping out batteries? There will no longer be a "911 engine", so what will the 911 be? In spite of what Porsches has said, that day is coming, and probably sooner than we think.
Actually, my personal 911 interest ended with the 997 generation with the exception of the 991 based speedster as an outlier.

The engineering changes made to the 9A1 engine you state are all discussed in Porsche: Excellence Was Expected, Book 4, Chapter 5 “ 2009-2011-New Engine and PDK” by Karl Ludvigsen. He reportedly had full access to Porsche archives and engineers while writing his 4 volume set.

That's the end of my interest. They should double stack the batteries in the rear instead of all along the bottom so the car still has the 911 rear weight bias
