If you have a 997 with headlights, what are you trying to retrofit? Xenon for Halogen, Dynamic Xenon for original Xenon, etc...

The lights will fit and leveling will work, but the side to side dynamic aspect of them will not, so it would just be a looks change you'd accomplish.

How come? They cannot be coded?

I don't care if side to side works or not but for me I am more interested in the looks department. Is this expensive project to be done?

There are other sensors in the .2 cars that control the side to side dynamic aspect of the headlights that aren't in the .1 cars. The guy I bought my clear projector lens Xenon headlights from did this exact swap and why he had offered up his relensed originals for sale. He's the one that told me that the leveling worked, but the side to side aspect did not. I believe it was plug and play to swap the lights.

How much is it....expensive. I think new headlights without bulbs and ballasts may be about $1,000 each. I don't see the point in spending a couple grand to change the lights without getting any functional benefit since the 997.1 headlights look just fine IMO, but to each their own.

I have 997.2 but I like the look of bi-zenon. If I can source used ones, I might do it. However, buying brand new is not really feasible.

I have the regular projector and halogen …. I will like something like the Macan or the Panamera that has the running lights (4 dots) and two projectors.

my problem is that the aftermarket looks cheap.

you have pics of what you have?

Default Xenon retrofit

I currently have halogen projectors as well, with an HID kit in them as a bandaid solution until I finish retrofitting these factory xenons into my car. The output of the halogens suck! FYI if you put an HID kit in these halogen projectors the beam pattern is almost identical. I bought some fogged up ones on the marketplace, took off one of the front lens, and now am trying to figure out the wiring. If I am able to repin the harness to match my car (would rather repin the headlights than the car), I will paint the shroud, polish the lens, and reassemble. Seems possible in my head, but I haven't touched the other one in case I mess up and need to abandon ship

Im currently in talks with lightwerkz to retrofit my headlights. I plan on making a post once the work is done.
Plan is blackout headlight internals minus the shrouds and either swap clear lens on OEM projects or swap over LEXUS RX350 projectors. I've never seen a blacked out 997.2 dynamic headlight so should be fun.
Just to be clear this is the headlight I am working with.

997.2 fix on 997.1? Those that you are working on looks nice…

you are trying to get RX350 jewel eyes or just the regular projectors?

This projector:lexus rx350
Should look stock but just perform better

In my journal you can see I swapped from standard headlights(bixenon) to the dynamic headlights. I detail the process. Process might be similar fro halogen units -> bixenon. The basics are that other headlights are plug and play but may trigger warning/errors. Which you can code out.

This is a correct. It is cost probative. The option I went is eBay. You can find find full headlights with bulbs and ballast for about $700-900 each. Obviously they are used and not brand new. So that brings the cost down some. still expensive. I do like the look of the dynamic headlights a lot more. So it was worth it for me at that pricing. I'd vote go eBay over aftermarket if it's in the budget.
