Default Replaced Battery Today

I replaced the battery in my 997.1 C2S today. Previously had an Interstate Mega-Tron Plus MTP-94R/H7. Lasted about (7) years. Looking around, the MTP-94R/H7 appears to still be the lightest option anywhere near the MSRP price of the battery. Took the time to remove the battery tray and clean all surrounding areas as well.

Was it an easy install? Was it just disconnect the + and -. Remove old battery, install new one, hook up cables and drive? Any dash lights on?

The trick is to stand in the frunk when you change the battery.

Replaced my battery today as well. Took maybe 45 min as I also cleaned out the battery tray area. I went with a Duracell Platinum AGM 94R/H7 from Sam's Club. It was $40 cheaper than any local auto parts dealer.

After the replacement you will get a PSM Error which all you need to do is drive the car a short distance. You may also need to reset the side windows. In my case I also had to do the bypass the Nav system to manually set the correct date/time since our Nav systems dont play well with current Satellite systems for date/time. That added about 15 min post install.

Lots of people should be replacing their battery. Don't wait for it to fail, it can take expensive stuff with it. Easy to do, not expensive (~$180), DIY, you get to stand in the frunk and the car will be thrilled. How old is your battery???

Yes, just as easy as that. Link to Rennlist How-To with post install steps -- Porsche 997: How to Replace Battery | Rennlist. Only error I saw is the battery clamp bolt is a 13mm, not 14mm.

For reference, the MTP-94R/H7 weighed in at 42.5 lbs. on my bathroom scale. The lightest of the flooded or AGM H7 batteries in that price range and capacity I believe.

Replaced my 7+ year old Interstate last week with an AGM MTX 94R/H7. Went to my "new" Porsche Indy in Boca Raton to replace. Took all of 15 minutes in and out including test drive.

Make sure you up your CCA when you replace your battery to at least 800CCA ...Lower CCA batteries tend to no last as long and regardless our engines require as much CCA and burst power as possible upon start up.

My old battery was a oem Bosh dealer installed with only 640CCA and in yr 3 the car started to crank slower so I replaced it with a 840CCA AGM battery and now cranking and overall power has gotten so much better.

I am done with wet cell batteries only AGM or Lithium batteries for me moving forward ..since using both types in my cars , boats , jet skis and motorcycles the benefits are worth the extra bucks epically with AGM batteries ...I would never go back to a wet cell battery in any of my rides ....

As for battery weight unless you have a GT car or are racing battery weight should be irrelevant for a DD .

I replaced the Bosch battery that was in the car when I bought it back in 2018, which had a MY sticker from 2012. I definitely got my money's worth out of that battery since I have the battery on a maintainer. I found that the Interstate MTP9-94R from Costco was the best deal out there.

My only minor setback was that I didn't have a thin enough wrench that would fit under the battery tray to hold the nut. You definitely have to stand inside the frunk in order to get leverage to pull the old battery out. I put a few shop rags on the bottom as I stepped in and out of the frunk.

Me too ... Odyssey AGM ....So far so good the car cranks like a champ and I believe they have a 3yr full replacement warranty if I recall correctly.
