Hello, I am new to Rennlist, and have found a ton of great information, so first thanks to all of the knowledgeable contributors.

I am having an upholstery place sew pepita inserts into by seats (black and white). I want to also cover the middle (hard plastic) of the door cards. My guy does not want to mess with it because of air bags. I have seen a couple good videos on how to remove the door panels. What I would like to know is does the middle part i am speaking of separate from the door card, in order to upholster that piece properly.

Having fun with this, got coco black and white mats, magnagraphix side stripes, a better bodies duck tail (at painter) and a more aggressive exhaust. Fuchs knock off next

 

It does come off but my installer thought it wasn’t an easy job as a lot of the components attach to the door card and have to be removed and re-installed.
but the results are amazing in my opinion some pics of mine. I used OEM 911r fabric.

 

ahh so doable, thats exactly what I am going for. thanks. I'll figure out the removal, just don't need to mess up an air bag I am looking at a foam backed product from relicate.

 

the 911r fabric has a backing as well.

not sure if the airbag gets messed up but I have no airbag errors after installing

 

Disconnecting the battery before performing ANY work and not connecting it until the work is complete and reassembled should prevent any airbag error.

 

How much is the pepita inserts project running you? I'm thinking of something similar...05 997 too

 

quoted 2k for all four seats only. not the doors. That includes 4 yards of foam backed fabric from a place called relicate.
