That's an amazing distance to drive a car. I've never put more than 90K miles on any car I've owned. I'm even more amazed that the owner could endure driving a PDK without Sport Mode for that many miles!

I'm at 86,000 on my 09 4s PDK....only 200,000 to go...I'm only 60, that's doable!

I've driven all my cars way past 90k miles. The lowest mileage I let a car go was my 1988 Dodge Shadow turbo at 110k and it was a TOTAL POS. All the others were over 160k or I still own them. Cars will last a long time if properly maintained. My TSX has 265k on it and my MDX has 130k on it and they are both still going. My Porsche just crossed 93k. Some people like new cars periodically and I like a new car too, but I like no car payments more .

My F250 currently has 165K and 151K on the 997.2. So between my current 3 vehicles I have a total of 350K now, matching the Econoline.
Meanwhile, the mileage on that 997.2 is inspiring.

Congrats to the owner! However it is a German car. I have bought a number of cars with 100K miles or more and they have all been wonderful. I ran my BMW's to 475K, 375K, 300K 175K . I sold all of them and the next owners drove them "forever". None of them were rebuilt or major overhaul. (2 had valve jobs, no big deal on the straight 6). My 997.2 has 94K and the VW eurovan has 250K. I do my own work. These are Geman cars and well maintained. I do like working on cars, I do not do car payments.

Dang! You either drive an insane amount of miles or you buy cars with an insane amount of miles already on them.

Speaking for others like me, we buy cars with lots of miles, drive lots of miles and enjoy them al lot. We like working on them and the money saved more than saves the depreciation, buys the repair parts and pays for all the tools we need and want. On good cars,i.e. German cars, 200 to 300k miles may include an alternator, fuel pump, tie rod ends, strut bushings ,water pump, radiator and hoses, along with the normal tires, brakes, belts batteries, plugs ,oil service and filters. In any event, these are DIY bolt off/ bolt on pieces and parts you can do in your driveway or garage. Beyond these typical items may include a rebuild of the steering rack and clutch. The stupid electronics and fiddly stuff are a world of there own and exist in greater quantity on newer cars. (MY '69 911E had no electronics and no fiddly stuff). At 300K+ miles you will not even be ready to open up the gearbox (MT discussion only) and maybe, just maybe consider a top end refresh but not necessary. Opening the gear case or splitting the crankcase would be major work. Everything else is just changing parts..
