997.2 - Key FOB
My key fell on the concrete. Porsche logo flew off and cannot find it. Also current fob is a bit worn out.
what is the best source for a new FOB shell? Thinking I can move the internals and blade.

There have been some threads about this...apparently it's not that easy.
I have a similar problem with one of mine. The buttons are falling off one of the keys. I bought a blank dummy key on amazon for 20 bucks or something, thinking i would just swap out the plastic body onto my key. I've read that the immobilizer chip is stuck onto the plastic outer body and can/will be damaged if you try to pry it out.
Maybe somebody has a good method?

I followed a how-to from another forum to replace a key fob shell using a fob I got on Amazon. I made a mistake and got a 3 button fob first so I ended up getting a second, 2-button fob. Lesson is to get the right fob the first time.
The transponder is glued in pretty well. I used a fresh blade on a utility knife to cut the glue on all sides of the chip. I effectively cut out the chip, but my old fob was broken anyways. I had a harder time taking out the battery contacts than the chip. Took less than 20 min, and I was going slow. I didn’t glue the chip in, and everything fit together well.
I would do it again without hesitation.
edit: link to how-to.

The amazon key deal is the way to go. Get the one with the correct number of buttons (duh). You get the shell, button switches and the Porsche creat. Transfer over and you are good to go. One of the few aftermarket parts that actually work. If you get the one I bought just for the switch buttons, it is identical to the OEM.

If transplanting into a new shell is too daunting, just go for the replacement emblem:
