My New 06 C4 Cabriolet---> Driving home

100% on board with the Lobster Forks. I ran across a set at a garage sale years ago for $200 and put them on a 996 I had (yes I swear it was $200 for the set). The Lobsters were were a major factor when I sold the car. Those wheels really compliment the 997.

I cropped it to remove a little bit of the foreground...

Just got home to Seattle.
Having owned 3 previous 3.8 997's (05 997S, 07 997 C4S, 07 997S)I can honestly say I didn't notice any difference in the performance HP of the 3.6 engine compared to my previous S cars with the 3.8 engine. This is after driving 950 miles past 3 days.
Also don't notice any flex in the Cabriolet body.
One aspect of the car I really appreciate are the black gauge faces - I can't stand the white gauge faces and forgot the non-S cars have the black. Much better and remind me of the old aircooled gauge faces which are black.
I'll get some more photos this weekend.
Here's a photo of car in front of Winery Storage Tanks

*I like the foreground cropped out.
The car was sitting downhill so when I leveled it out the fence behind car is not parallel to ground which bugs me.
Anyone here photoshop wizards and can level out the fence so it is parallel to ground? - Barbed wire also gonna b a bitch to work with. I might mess with it later but always appreciate the help

Beautiful car and buy!
Wowza, once you see the tilt in the picture you can't unsee it .
If you straighten it out then it will look like the lucky shot below..
Lucky shot in motion at NJMP Thunderbolt.

Ok less annoying now - I leveled fence and also removed some background above fence on far left and right to clean it up

So Groove, what all did you get done to it and what is left that you wanted to do ?
For me, it is a front diff oil change, drop oil pan inspection plate (at next oil change) and spark plugs. Still on original water pump, but did a full flush and refill on that in 2015, along with 3 300 mile back to back oil changes.

Groov you made a great move here and will be enjoying this car all summer with a smile on your face. If I had the garage room I would have a similar cab right now. Been looking lately and its hard to resist. I am also in the lobster fork camp and considered them for my car when I bought it. Great light weight wheel. Curious how is the road noise when at highway speed. Could you hear the stereo pretty well top down if you decided to go with music for a while? I normally just listen to the car and engine except for very long trips.

Car idled/ran so nice and smooth after purchase driving up from San Jose to SF that decided to instead have him do some small replacements of cabin & engine air filters/front hood shocks and replace some bulbs in passenger sun visor so wife would be happy doing her makeup. Any excuse to see Frank is worth the money. Besides I always factor in the $70/night savings at a parking lot and abuse a parking lot ***-wipe can do so having Porsche safe in his shop overnight in the encampment called San Francisco is comforting.
Visiting/hanging with Frank is something I look forward to.
Clutch is also a lot better than PPI revealed but planning to have the clutch/flywheel/water pump/thermostat/rear main seal/coils and plugs replaced 6/14 appt at aker's Porsche 5 blocks from my house and 35 years a customer/friend.
Will also have Aker's remove the IMS seal for better bearing lubrication as recommended and I have done on 2 of my previous 997's.
Here's Frank owner of Auto Sport Haus. 40 year Porsche mechanic worked on racing team in Germany. Dropped car off on 5/26 for next morning repairs. Great honest guy!
He's Japanese but has heavy heavy German accent. So crazy sounding.
**I did mount the Carrera 4 badges last night - Previous owner removed them to install the "911" badge but never got around to it.
I saw photos online of the Carrera 4 badges mounted either 1/3 up from bottom of engine lid or 1/3 lower than wing edge.
I went with the 1/3 lower position - Can always be moved easily if next owner craps his pants on location

Great looking cab. I have always been partial to open cars, all my air-cooled 911's except a couple were Targa's.
Living in the Northeast and riding moto I feel much better with some wind , kinda out with the elements
Like you, the Porsche's don't usually go out in the rain. Bikes.....maybe!
When I went for my 1st watercooled this year I knew it had to be a cab and it had to be a manual.

Driving with top down is such a nicer experience. Top was down all 1000 miles.
