The user "intrepid agent" has a business that makes really nice Porsche crests. He did these custom ones for me for my white Cayenne. Filled with polished nickel metal.

Those look great! Must look really clean on the car. But to be clear, Porsche doesn't do any variations on the crest right? Is this sacrilege to do? My 997 is all blacked out so I was thinking the all blacked out crest would look sleek. But maybe too much? I do like yours. It's nice.

I don't think it's a big deal to do a custom crest if you like it. Lots of people put them on their cars.

I just went through the process of looking for a silver crest for my 997 to replace the dull silver (aftermarket) badge that was added by the previous owner. I have a new OEM porsche badge but for my car, basalt black with black Fuchs with silver crests , the car looks better with the chrome finish. The only gold on the car is the crest on the steering wheel. The problem with finding non standard items is that that are all "fake" reproductions unless they are refinished originals like the one noted above by "ironman88". All manufacturers ,like Porsche are very aggressive legally with non authorized products (as they should be). Using the "porsche " name is one thing, using the crest is probably a bigger deal. That may be why a Ebay or Amazon search will not come up with any hits. (except for real ones). However it seems that some time back there were some good quality crests made with a logo on the back of "RENU". These were made in gold chrome, and a bunch of different colors. These are listed as "limited availabilty" from the one vendor I could find. Old-old time Porsche friend and parts supplier. (I used to crawl through his parts/ junk looking for Pre-A Speedster parts) Price is very reasonable for the quality- less than $60.
911 hood/frunk crest. Left is new OEM crest. Next is chrome with black and burgandy bands (aftermarket). This is my new one. Third is the dull cast metal reproduction badge that was on my car when I bought it. Fits the car color scheme perfectly, but quality not so much. On the far right is early original From the 60's 911 with the original orange bars (super expensive if you can find one),
New aftermarket badge in chrome, black and burgundy . Not OEM but quality excellent. This is now on my basalt black car
Pick your flavor from my collection.
