That may have been me. That's how I always described the difference in exhaust note between the GTS and other non GT 997's. Alex at Sharkwerks who knows a thing or two about 997's and other Porsches seems to agree:

a GTS X51 engine does have a slightly different tone through an uncorked PSE for sure (there's a few contributing factors to that yes the cams/intake manifold etc...).
