I completely agree, I was attempting sarcasm, and I believe I failed.

Yep, I chased better sounds in 911s for years and gave up years ago. All I could hear in my cup cars was the sequential . . ., but even they do not have that flat plane crank wail.

You're right, you can't get that $60k exotic Ford GT350(or Ferrari) sound without a flat plane crank. And I actually have no idea what Ferrari does to their engines and also really don't care.
Haha, okay. OP essentially asked how to get Ferrari wail out of a 911. I can say unequivocally, you cannot get it out of a 911 boxer engine no matter what you do to intake or exhaust side without a flat plane crank.

The flat plane crank provides the foundation for the high pitched wailing Ferrari sound, but one can obviously make a flat plane sound like crap or un-Ferrari like.

The 430 was a completely revamped engine that carried over into the 458. The new engine lost some of its soul in sound, but more than made up for it in other areas.

What does it take to get the 2018 RSR high pitched note? Certain kind of plumbing? The 2017 had a low note, but then the center exhaust made it super high pitched. I think that is closer to what op means.

Well, no, the answer is get a Ferrari V8, but Tubi is a good exhaust. It will still just sound like a 911, but louder.

Go to you tube and you can find sound videos of just about every exhaust.

thanks for sharing. That sounds too much like an in-line six for my liking. The 8-1 on some ol murican v8s do sound great. 6-1 is a bit of a letdown unfortunately.

have no idea what Chevy or Ford does tobtheir flat plane crank engines and don’t care.

Whatever they do, the outcome has nothing in common with the sound of a Ferrari. At least not to my ears.

That’s a short video of my car with FVD / M&M headers and 200 cell cat pipes, with PSE cans. Not Ferrari wail but does sound good to me.

A complete ipe or Innotech Performance Exhaust is as close to the sound you seek that you can get on a 997.1 Carrera, followed by Fabspeed. My car has some of that high pitch scream in the upper rpm range with the full Fabspeed setup that's on it.

You're not going to get a flat 6 to sound like a v12 Ferrari no matter what you put on it for an exhaust.

It’s apparently just a $12k exhaust system!
