Default How to operate memory 997 adaptive seats

I have got my first 997 and have the adaptive sports seats with memory. But I am having problems with saving new seat setup. I got two keys.

Can someone please tell me how to do it. It seem to be possible to also save mirror settings.

The book is in german and I dont understand a thing

I can provide you the information how it works on 997 Mk1:

1. Use the key to which you want to save the seat position.
2. Engine off, ignition on (no reverse gear engaged!)
3. Press memory key and additionally press personal key 1
Done.

For the mirror lowering position when reversing/parking additionally:

1. Apply handbrake
2. Engage reverse gear
3. Bring the passenger mirror into the desired position
4. Press memory key and additionally press personal key 1

Done. Hth!

Can you explain what “pressing personal key 1” means? I only have 1 key?

Personal Key 1 means the 1 & 2 memory buttons on your door - Assuming you have them on your door . If you do not as is the case with my C4S seat settings will need to be performed thru PWIS .

When you first unlock your car, it will say "Key 1" or "Key 2" in the display where you look at your digital MPH.

Hi,

Just bought a 2006 C4S. Everything works fine exept the memory seat. It looks like it's impossible te program the memory. With both keys the driver seat just keeps returning to the back after I opened te door.
Only memory #3 seems to have some setting programmed, but I can't change it. I followed the procedure in the manual many times now but with no result.....

Does anyone have an idea?
Maybe I can shut it off so the seat will remain in the position?

Gr Vinnie.

I have an ‘05 997 and had the same issue. Previous owner had a special setup especially when you locked the car. Finally read the manual and fixed it. I did exact.y as the posted manual page above and worked great. #1 is for me and #3 is for my wife. Much better now as I used to not lock the car cause the settings became for frustrating. The only thing that still happens and again this may be normal is when I go in reverse the outside mirrors turn down more. It does help but was not sure if that was programmed by previous owner.

I have tried all of the above but with no succes. Looks like it seems to be programmed standard at key#1 for a very big person to get in. As it goes all the way back and up when I open the door. It's the same voor Key#2.

I believe digital copies of the owners manuals are available from Porsche Cars North America - PCNA.com. Call them if you can't locate the one you need. Or look on Stuttcars.com. Germans seem to be fanatics for details, so make sure you have cleared the previous settings for the seats.

It was solved by replacing one of the mirror motors. It obstructed the signal to the memory switch......

Bumping this old thread - I feel like there is a feature where when you open the driver door the seat will go back a little bit to allow you easier ingress? Or did I dream of this? If this is real, I seem to have disabled it at some point and hoping someone knows how to re-enable.
