Put a set of Vredestein on my wife's Camry about 7K miles ago. Diff car and driver situ of course, but they are proving to be good tires that are wearing well. Good luck with the buy.

There's nothing wrong with Vredesteins at all. Good, solid tires. Work particularly well on MB SUVs and LRs.

Thx!

With factory/CPO coverage I'm certain you have to have the work done by a Porsche dealership but with a non Porsche related extended warranty I can't imagine that you couldn't have the repairs done by any competent independent of your choice, preferably one that specializes in German cars.

Check with Fidelity or whoever you intend to buy the extended policy from though. They have to approve the work and the cost before anything is done so I don't really think they care who they pay as long as the cost is within their perimeters and the shop seems legitimate and up to the task.

'09 C4S PDK / 51K miles / owned since 2014
Maintenance: Oil once a year; brake flush every two years; PDK fluid at 48K which is early but at 10 years so figured time dependent; spark plugs.... Just the usual stuff for me.
Non-scheduled: Only thing that needed unscheduled replacement was the washer fluid resovior that cracked and needed replacement.

One of the most reliable cars I've owned. No electronic bugs / gremlins so long as you keep your battery fully charged.

Default Leaking Windshield Washer Reservoir

Got the C4S home but discovered a dripping leak in the WSW reservoir. How big a problem is this? Bought a full aftermarket warranty. Thanks!

Shouldn't be any problem with full aftermarket warranty. BTW, if you don't mind, which warranty did you get and what was the cost?

Default Warranty

Went with Concord. Excellent reviews, no pressure. 66 months, 70,000 miles for $3600, due on front end.

To the OP:

If you are thinking of a Porsche warrantee, they will insist you change the tyres to Porsche standard spec. Which I think is Michelin P-zeros (at least in the UK). So if you have a choice of new rubber, and the warrantee is a possibility (your car is less than 14 years old and has less than 125k miles), then I would go with the Michelins.

The OPC warrantee is worth its weight in gold - I have had about £15k of work on it including new manual gearbox, rotors, lift valves, window regulators... (but mine does have 114k miles on it).

Did you end up with the Vredesteins? I just ordered a replacement set of 4 yesterday of that brand or my Audi A6 supercharged (they are what I put on a couple of years ago; heard good things about them). They are a very good tire. They hold very well, perform great at high highway speeds, are quiet, and last as long as anything else. I run Mich's on my 997, but when the time comes, I will not hesitate to run the Vredesteins. I do not like the Conti's - very noisy as they wear.

Based on my research and the recommendation of the tire dealer, India go with the Vredesteins. He cited almost identical ratings vs. the Michelin’s. Unless I have an unusual experience with these tires, I’ll go back to Michelin’s when I replace. My dealer in Little Rock (one of the few in this area who will work on a Porsche wheel) doesn’t handle Vredesteins. Thanks for your feedback.

Default Oil Usage

Have 1500 miles on the 09 C4S, most of it driving home to AR from MD. Check Oil message came on at about 1300 miles. Added 1/2 Q, then another 1/2 when the message continued. Have added a 3d 1/2 Q and still have the message. Any thoughts?

Only 4S specific maintenance item I've had was leaking front half-shaft seals at 65k miles. About $1200.

What bar are you up to on the oil level indicator?
