Car is still out there. Dealer said I could take it anywhere for an inspection, then we can talk price. Meanwhile I found a nice one owner 996 so I'm getting that one PPId instead.

Wise choice. The dealer is going to be stuck with an obviously repaired but undisclosed damaged car.

Oops....missed that. Makes a difference but as you said, still not a great spot for impact though.

I really don't get some of these dealers, is it that hard to clean a car up for sale? The photos shows years of filth in every crevice that apparently the dealer couldn't be bothered to clean, the carpets don't even looked vacuumed. The close-ups of the steering column stalks are covered with dust. I wouldn't want to sit in that car let alone buy it.

Body work aside, for having only 32k miles the interior of this car is trashed. The seats are cracked, and the center console is all chipped up and looks stained, and is filthy on top of it. I don't know how a car gets so trashed with such low miles. If it was a DD beater then I get it but only 32k miles in 15 years?

Maybe I'm the only one but this photo is completely disgusting yet the dealer has it as a close-up on their website. Truth in advertising I guess.

I bought a low mileage (24k) Lexus 430SC a number of years ago. It showed some unusual wear on the radio (especially) and other controls and the drivers seat was a lot more worn than expected. I was able to locate the previous owner. Turns out the car was a daily driver for a number of years and the owner had a very short commute but spent many hours in heavy traffic congestion, so plenty of time to fiddle with radio and other controls.

Our Mercedes has ~140k miles. Was looking at low mileage used replacement and steering wheel and shifter leather was completely worn out. Owner must have had some sand paper gloves!

Sadly, the left rear corner of a 911 is the typical place for them to be wreaked by a new-to-911 driver. They probably had PSM off. Good thin you passed on it. Let someone else make a discovery.
