Default Has this car had work?

I'm really looking for a 996, but went to see a 997 at a dealer yesterday. Clean carfax, etc.
Look at these and tell me if I'm right that the left fender has had major, sloppy work done.
Also, should the 997 have the options sticker on the hood like the 996? This one didn't have one.

Yeah that has definitely had work done. It should look clean like the right hand pic.

Hood strut missing is not a big issue - mine too doesn't have the driver's side strut for the decklid. But yes, the fender looks to have had significant work done - possibly off the books if carfax doesn't show anything.
Carfax is not 100% exhaustive all the time, and it also depends on whether the shop/insurance updates the info.

I'd take a hard pass on that car. Nothing looks quality about the work..

A couple of 4th graders could do better work than was done on that car. Pathetic.

As to question #2; the 997.2 does not have the underhood sticker. The stickers were provide loose to the dealer. They were to attach one to the owners manual maintenance book. If the orignial books are not available , then you will not find the sticker anywhere . Mine has it correctly placed in the book. I am not sure if this was the practice for the 997.1 cars.

Yikes, run away! Clean CarFax and this sh**ty work means it was never reported and fixed by the lowest quote.

Either that or repaired right before being traded in and still has not shown up on CarFax.

I haven't seen an underhood sticker on a 997. Some were glued into owners manual based on my shopping observations.

That car definitely had drivers rear work. Post the vin.

its seam sealer. Maybe a whole left quarter, maybe not. But can compare the 2 sides and both should look the same. You should be able to see alot more paint overspary around that left sides
