It only took a minute. But good to update the thread!

Went for chrome badge, chrome quad tips to tie it all together.

My reasoning to abandon the brilliant gold badging idea is simple - I didnt want to wait for the tips to be gloss black powder coated either, as I think that is a must with gold badges on the rear.

Quick shots in garage, I will do better pics when in sunshine and car is clean later on. Too excited with this little mod not to share!

Good thing is, I can drive liike this for a while now happy to have banished the stock Carrera look and enjoy a little sportier rear. I read bunch of tutorials and how much people liked the text badge and I always had a hunch this is what I also like on a car that isnt agressive or track toy. I think for that style it suits well and Im actually happy with the outcome!

Hope to those contemplating the switch to this style of rear, it is helpful.

Special thanks to @Fuggit for the write up on how to do it here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...emblems-4.html

Yes, matte. No question.

My .2 4S came with a badge delete - ordered from Suncoast and put it on. I think it looks better factory badged. But that's just my .02$

Now, I feel like on my car a Chrome badge of Carrera would be perfect. Is that possible to find from Porsche? THey only offer me a "matte titatnium" badge thats same as my car. Is that my only option or someone has a part number I can give them for a chrome one?

Or perhaps I should go with a gold colored badge? It's a brown car, would look good and match the hood one.

Or perhaps I should even go for one of the newer 911 fonts (or that retro one they put today) or just PORSCHE letters?

Considering I have a choice now Id like to get something that will make the car a little bit more my own.

Thoughts? Post pics of various decklid badging. My car is gonna have a very classic look always, not aggressive. It's a base model Carrera in best metallic brown ever made. Some member cars here for ideas:

Just Porsche logo? I kind of like it but dont like huge badges...

May be a bit too naked?

Too much text?

911 badge old one?

The full monty

911 base one

Or this Narrow Porsche text?
Here's my choice.

Little late to the party, but I am on the "body colored badge" camp.

On the transition from factory grey to red, I had it naked for a month or two. liked it very much too.

the rear of 997.1 ages like fine wine, I gotta say. Painted badges look good indeed. Still happy with my "PORSCHE" text results but nice to see people embrace modding this bit and not too obsessed with OEM only like with brake calliper colors for example.

I'm a fan of the color matched badge.

Still like the spaced out Porsche badging. As always to each their own. Used this thread for each of 997s. Appreciate the work.
