You got me. I like scratching my vagina When Honda came out with auto motorcycle I went wtf? My 997.2 is first 2 pedal in decades and when get another 911 to garage with my current one it’ll be 3 pedal. Looked for PDK and sport Chrono in current because of DD in DFW traffic.

Thanks. My brain says that owning any British car is a terrible idea, but this one has been in the family for about 40 years. My uncle retired and bought a new Mustang convertible and offered it to me for a price I couldn’t say no to. Surprisingly, it’s been more reliable than I expected it to be, and a heckuvalot of fun.

Well... I thought to add my .02 on this subject. Having owned a 2006 Carrera S (997.1) with Tiptronic for approx. 6 years and now I currently have a 2005 Carrera S with Manual. I do like both cars for different reasons.
Tiptronic likes:
1.) when auto-crossing using the shift buttons I was consistent and fast, taller gearing helped! - people couldn't believe I had a tip and many asked for rides!
2.) never missing a shift
3.) long trips and rush hour traffic made the drive enjoyable.
Tiptronic Dislikes:
1.) slower off the line acceleration
2.) shift delay (as you get used to this, you can anticipate the delay and get the shifts spot-on using the steering wheel buttons)
3.) constantly defending why I chose a Tiptronic to other porsche-philes!

Another thing that keeps coming up is that many who have driven a PDK car have either driven one without sport chrono or they drove one with sport chrono but didn't know how to get the most out of it. Some have said something along the lines of "sport plus is too much for me". Why? In manual mode it's the same as sport mode, only quicker shifts.
So to the OP's question of preference, these would be mine:
1. Manual vs. TIP: Manual (easy choice)
2. Manual vs. PDK without sport chrono: Manual (almost as easy)
3. Manual vs. PDK with sport chrono: PDK
