I purchased my 997.2 with most of those mods in place. I just completed the work and added the tuner. All together it would have cost over $10k. I think the money would be better spent upgrading to a better model.

Worth it? Honestly it’s really subjective. Is what you want that they offer worth the price of entry? There’s always gonna be gains and sound improvement.
I got mine as a package deal because to get the racy sound out of the iPE exhaust you’ve gotta get their headers too. I was in love with the sound since I heard it years ago so for me the sound was worth it and the gains were secondary.

The benefit/dollar ratio just isn't there in my opinion. But it's a very personal thing and it depends on what money is worth to you.

I'd agree. Most of what you gain is volume and tone, and you can get 90% of the way there with PSE or a Gundo hack or Fisters. On a forced induction car like mine, it makes a bigger difference because there's so much air moving through the motor, but on a NA engine there are much better bang-for-the-buck mods. At the top of this list on a PASM equipped car is TPC's DSC module. Also high on the list are Fisters or Gundo mufflers. PSE is a step above these with the variable valve control but you already have them so no change required there.

I have PSE and its sound on an NA 997.1 is glorious but I worry headers will change the tone completely. Factory headers just look a bit restrictive for my taste. I do imagine I will pull the trigger pretty soon. Just need to decide if $800 Racing Dynamic headers are as good as a set twice the price. I do like the look of the Fabspeed also. I do worry about fitment issues on cheaper headers.

Post up a picture of the ones you're considering. The impotent attributes are how the merging collector is done and that the tubes are equal length with smooth paths so the exhaust pulsed stay sequenced. The X51 headers aren't much better than the stock ones IMO.

Pete, your link you posted: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...t-headers.html

Post 1, pic 1. They look nice but so far no one has chimed in with a set. Grant it, I have zero issue spending more money when its worth it, Fabspeed is twice the price.
RTL5009, those pics are fantastic. Of course looking in the collector I see only 1 pipe is welded {weird} but the quality speaks for itself.
I have reached out to Flat6 earlier today since they sell several brands. Waiting on a response. Maybe the'll have some good input.
They offer IPE/Soul/Fabspeed/Cargraphics, from 1250.00 to 1600.00.

I actually submitted a ticket to Fabspeed on that. I figured it was purposeful to set the collector and then welding the outside but I wanted to verify.

I see people are running Borla exhausts but no mention of Borlas headers. They are in the $1200 range.

I almost did borla but went with Fabspeed instead since they are local and have a lifetime warranty. The borla set up has been discontinued.

As one other poster has said already, if you are looking at spending a hefty 4 figures, why not sell the 3.6 and get an S with 40 more ponies and PASM? Now maybe you really love the color combo or features and don't want to part with it, but my vote is for the S.

Those look quite good based on the criteria I think is important in an effective header.

Man. I have to agree here.
coming from E39 M5 to the 997.2 4s, I missed the low & mid range torque badly.
Car is strictly DD so peak & top end HP is somewhat meaningless for me.
All flavors of tuning shop seem to have some combo of intake/header/tune pkg that puts out another 25 - 35 HP & torque for about $10K+ Including labor.
I want the added torque but not at $10k.
As result will just spend $1K on basic tune to improve throttle & nominal torque bump and save the $9k to upgrade to 991.2 in a few years.
