Last night after a drive I noticed a trail of water spots on my driveway. I looked under the car and there was a significant amount of puddled water (maybe +1 cup). I could see water dripping from the underneath middle area about 18" to the rear of the front tires, picture below.
Any ideas want could be causing this? It seemed to be more water than normal A/C condensation. The car is running great, it was not raining and I was using the A/C last night.
Also, I'm relatively new to owning a 911. Thank you ahead of time.
Interested to see on other replies but my 997.1 puts out an ungodly amount of water when running the A/C on a hot humid day compared to any of my other vehicles & my prior 996. But it is also the coldest A/C of the bunch too.
If it's clear water (not pink), it's probably condensation. (Coolant also has a distinct odor.) I would also verify that the coolant level is ok - and it should be pink in color.
It's the air conditioning, mine does the exact same thing from the exact same place. The compressor runs sometimes even when it's not that hot unless the AC is turned off using the "AC off" button. It defaults to on as part of the auto climate control unless you turn it off yourself.
My garage floor has a low spot where the dripping pools, it always dries completely clear without a trace of residue. It's water.
Thank you all for the responses, puts my mind at ease.
BTW, It is definitely h2o. I originally thought it might be A/C condensation, I was just surprised by the amount of water and wanted to double check with you all.
To have the compressor not run, you either have to press the A/C Off or Econ button depending on the specific year/model of your car. Otherwise the compressor runs and makes condensation. The defrost setting overrides the Econ setting and also runs the compressor.

Interesting and good to know.
I had the whole climate control system "off" (set fan to lowest, and then one more click down to make the system screen go blank) but if I'm reading your comment correctly, it sounds like maybe the AC compressor stays active unless I push the "AC off" button.
So much to know about these cars (which is something I really love about them!).
I'm curious what your humidity was the night you had the big puddle. Here in the Pacific Northwest, despite all the rain, we don't get that sticky, humid air pretty much ever, and I still get a significant puddle just driving 10-15 miles to work, although it is not as big as yours was. My money is on AC condensate, especially if it doesn't smell or look pinkish.
