Very high prices for 997 Turbo - is it justified?
I am seeing some crazy pricing for low milage 997 TT? Like even 100K! WHAT?
Do you think it's a bubble? are people REALLY paying that much for 997TT? or is it just greed due to limited number of available car?

The nicest cars will always bring a premium. Highly optioned, low mileage, well kept cars are the ones that are going to bring $90-100k. Your 20-30k mile normal optioned car in good condition is going to bring $80-90k. Your 30-40k mile normal or low option car that may be in average to good condition is going to bring $70-80k. Whether the prices are worth it are up to you.

There are definitely a lot of overly optimistic asks out there, but like Bxstr says, nice cars do sell for good money. The 6-speed coupes are in particularly high demand because it's the classic Turbo config that you can't get anymore.

No doubt. I think the best buy of all right now is a low mileage, clean, white or black 2009 twin turbo with black interior and manual transmission. The 997.2 body and interior with the Mezger engine. This car will be very valuable one day if kept low mileage. Last of the almighty Mezger.

I would rather have the manual for that kind of money.

I hope it’s not a bubble!
This summer I just hit 15k miles on my ‘08 997TT Manual Cab (sticker was over $165k). It’s mint, bone stock and looks like it just rolled out of Stuttgart.
I hope the prices not only remain high but go higher! Especially for low mileage, well optioned, clean, preserved 997s

Agreed some of the manual 997TT are interesting options. However, I think asking 99K for a manual TT is way too much. Like you can get a GT3 which is a lot rarer and more unique and definitely more desirable.
I think folks are being optimistic. I’d still pick those over a PDK 997.2 with all the PDK failures were seeing (and them not being repairable). But if I wanted to spend 99K, I’d pick a GT3 any day of the week!

Turbos are great. Worth it if people are paying those prices. I wouldn't but clearly some are. Will prices drop? Maybe. Did 993 prices drop? They sure did - pretty significantly.
Personally I would much rather get a GT3. Also, not a huge fan of the turbo as an experience to drive / weekend fun car. As a daily / GT, absolutely. Exhaust note is just not as nice as carreras, let alone GT3s. Big part of the experience. I'm not a turbo hater either, have a turbocharged sports car that sounds awesome. But not personally a fan of most Porsche turbo exhaust notes. Maybe I haven't heard the right combos though.

The 2009 turbos are 997.1 cars. The exterior and body are identical to any other 997.1, the only key differences are optional centerlock wheels and optional adaptive headlights for the 2009 cars. The interior of the 2009 cars has the minor 997.2 updates, including the newer PCM, optional ventilated seats, and black plastic trim as opposed to gray plastic trim. Other than those things, it’s all 997.1. Many people liked it better initially because it kept the good things from the .1 cars, and had a modern PCM from the .2 cars. The PCM is obviously outdated at this point, so that’s not relevant anymore. They were made in low numbers, so you’re right about them being desirable.

This pretty much sums it up. I'd much rather get a GT3, but for many the Turbo is the top of the heap and the only 911 they'd want. If folks are paying the money then the cars are worth it to them. I love to have a turbo car. My daily is a 3.0 liter turbo car.. but I don't want it for my 911. If I had 3 or 4 other 911s then I'd want a turbo to add to the collection.
