FWIW, I accidentally typed $67k in my range above. I meant to say $55k to $57k, but that is based on season and a nothing special build.

Thank you! I sent a private message in accordance with your request.
Also, what is the difference between a 997.1 and a 997.2?
Thanks again.

55k give or take 5k depending on condition, options, miles, etc. Good rough estimate.

997.1 was from 2005 to 2008, 997.2 from 2009 to 2012.

997.2 gives you:
Engine: Eliminates IMS, direct fuel injection. S model makes 25 more HP as compared to 997.1.
Exterior: LED exterior lighting,
Interior: Better nav, bluetooth for phone calls, availability of cooled/vented seats and heated steering wheel

Theres more, just off the top of my head. Quick search will bring it up.

Two of his Vin numbers were off (he had WBO instead of WP0), but I found the car and saw his build sheet.

Did he tell you services at a Porsche dealership? Carfax shows services in 2017, 2018 & 2019 at Amity Mobile. I looked up that
name and the telephone number listed and it came up as a gas station.

I would ask for receipts and confirm serpentine belt and major service was performed based on years, not miles.

It has also crossed 30k miles and to me, that lower price mentally.

I like the car and think you should try and come in under his ask by $2,900. Definitely get a PPI. I would check it very carefully. I would want to see good pictures of the interior before paying for a PPI.

Thank you. I will ask the seller for the documents as well as other questions. If the car is a "story" car, I will run. The car is really a good looking car. I hope all checks out!

I would do a great deal of due diligence here since Doug's Carfax search indicates the car has been serviced at a gas station. Not at a Porsche dealership as the seller apparently told you. If this is correct, the seller has lied to you about how and where the car has been serviced so what else is misrepresented? Hard to understand how the seller says the car has been serviced by a Porsche dealership but again, based on Doug's Carfax records, the seller would have no way of providing you with service/maintenance records from a Porsche dealership.

Lastly, how has this car been serviced and maintained between 2010 and 2017? Looks like 2017 is the earliest record on Carfax of any kind of service. Doesn't mean nothing was done to it before that but why no records?

I'm sorry. My error. The seller never represented that the car was serviced at a Porsche Dealer. The seller represented that the car has always been "garaged" ..."no issues" and "service records"
My apologies.

I keep hearing on this forum that "cabs tend to go slightly lower" and I just wanted to clarify that is regional bias. In Southern Cal and South Florida, cabs sell for equal or higher values. Also, some of us cab guys do prefer manuals.

My comment wasn’t meant to be a knock on cabs or speak to preference/which is better, but was a statement of fact that on average cabs tend to go slightly lower. You see this with most performance cars that are offered as a coupe and cab (i.e. BMW M3). I could go into the various reasons that this might be, but that would just create more debate, that wasn’t the intent of my comment.

Sure there might be pockets that defy this observation and I am sure many would prefer a cab over a coupe, but for the most part they have lower demand. Also with the way you can shop for cars online and ship across country I think prices for cars like these are less regional.

Again, my comment wasn’t intended to stir debate or offend anyone, it was just meant to provide a perspective for the OP on the value of a car he is shopping.

I don't disagree at all.

I think cabs at certain times of the year (spring through early fall) bring higher prices based on me looking and comparing on multiple occasions when purchasing.

I, however, do feel that manuals in cabs, while being a price bump to some degree, don't command that huge premium that manual coupes do over manual pdk cars. I do feel like certain options such as ventilated seats are very important in cabs in certain climates. This is a must have for me in the South where it is hot. The car OP is looking at does not have ventilated seats, but the car is in Connecticut where only heated seats may be necessary.

My brother just bought a similar car a few months ago. Paid $54k from CarMax. Your has fewer miles so somewhere from $57-$60k.

I own a '95 993 C4 Cabriolet and I'm more familiar with the 993, and of course, the model number.
If the 2010 is not a 997, please let me know the correct model number. I appreciate your help.
Time of year might allow you to get it in the low 50's; there was a 2009 with 42,000 miles (also manual) that I looked at a local ford dealer end of last winter up here in Twin Falls. It sold for $48,000, also a 2010. I realized that for my cab/daily, I wanted a 991, as we (at the time) were planning on getting a 997 GT3. 997 more fun and raw; 991 more stylish and classy.

Try and find one at a cold weather dealership this time of year, such as Ford/Chevy. You will get a pretty good deal. Trust me; nobody in Montana/Idaho/Wyoming is looking at a cab this time of year.

A 2010 C2S with manual with 42,000 for $48,000? Base is a $4X car with that many miles.

I would look carefully, very carefully, at any 997.2 C2S or C4S manual with less than 50k miles priced less than 50, especially if sold at a Ford dealership. That sounds like an auction car and auction cars can easily wind up being more expensive than a high priced CPO at a Porsche dealership. 997.2s at Ford/Chevy dealerships worry me and sound like auction cars.

Something in the 20,000 range could bring $5k more IMO than a car with over 40k miles. 42k miles is a tougher sale than something in the 20s, but that is still below market regardless of location.
