I am contemplating adding yellow seatbelt to my 997. My car is cobalt blue with yellow pccb calipers and the interior is sea blue. Some days I think this would look awesome and others days I feel like it might be too "loud". looking for opinions to sway me one way or the other.
Thomas raises a good point. I think it would look cool though, especially with that blue of your car. Try different color floor matts - like blue, to break up the black interior.
I just got a white C4S with yellow seat belts which match the yellow PCCB calipers. The interior is black and the yellow belts do have a very nice contrast. But as the other gents have said, they get dirty. Mine are looking dingy so I'm starting to investigate how to properly clean them.
Interestingly, I live near the Coco Mats factory. After the holidays I'm going to see about getting a set of black and yellow coco mats that compliment the yellow belts.
Beautiful car. I had a speed yellow 997 and now have a racing yellow. My wife gave a hard no on any car with yellow seat belts. Her primary concern was keeping them clean. That said I have a friend with yellow belts in a racing yellow and he loves them. If you go that route buy a pair of driving gloves.
While eveyone is correct in that yellow belts will show dirt/grime easily, the up side is that they are a relatively open mesh synthetic fabric (nylon blend?), so they will clean up very easily. I have cleaned my red belts with nothing more than soap and water with excellent results (and even managed to remove white latex paint from black belts I had on a previous 911). So, if fear of getting yellow belts and having them look dingy after a while is a concern, recognize that they can be cleaned in far less time than it takes to wash and polish your car.
Yellow will look awesome. Sounds like some good advice about them getting dirty. I changed out mine to red and have never had a time that they have gotten dirty.

They are easy to clean. Pull out of the reel as far as you need to go, to expose the dirty sections. Saturate with a quality interior fabric cleaner (Adams is a good choice). Maybe agitate with a soft brush if needed. And then blot dry with a microfiber towel. Keep the belt extended till dry. Then, if you want easier clean-up in the future, after dry, spray with 3M Fabric Protector, and let dry again.
Thanks for the input. I was aware that many people say they get dirty fast, but that is a problem I am willing to accept and deal with. I am leaning towards doing it. I have always loved colored seat belts, but never had a car that was "cool enough" to pull it off. I feel like sea blue interior + yellow would be a really nice combo. Everything is so blue in the interior and exterior that I think the splash of color would be welcome and not over done.
Yellow seat belts would look awesome on your car. From the outside, it'll add a subtle accent to your yellow calipers. From the inside they're also a nice highlight. I would be careful to add too much yellow. And the question is whether to also replace the rears. If you want to mock it up, you can buy yellow tape online, and you can see what it looks like.
And finally, if they get dirty, they have these things called cleaning sprays.
I agree about the color matching to the brakes. I also think that yellow pairs well with the blue. The only time I have seen these get properly dirty is at the track. For normal use, they are pretty easy to keep clean. Just add it to the process of detailing your car when you do more than a basic wash.
