The GT2 seats referred to in this thread are folding bucket seats and are the only version offered by Porsche that fold. But they only fold forward, not backward. The Recaro Sportster CS seats fold both forward and backward (i.e., recline). I had a pair of CS seats in one of my aircooled cars as well as in a BMW wagon. They are fantastic seats, provide commensurate support to the GT2 seats as well as more adjustability. The calculus changed tremendously with the recent crazy appreciation of the GT2 seats and has made the Recaros a relatively great value prop now. I wasn't aware they are available with side airbags. I wonder how they function and integrate with the car's native airbag system.
I just read that a side airbag option was available on the Recaro website- but there was no further information to explain it.
BTW, the company history is quite interesting:

Hi Rennlist. Just bought a set of 991 buckets, transplanted 997 weight sensors/harness/module, and mounted them in my 997. I get implausible signals to all 4 sensors and they show offline when I try to do a system test/calibrate in PIWIS. A helpful post above led me to believe a vehicle handover procedure may wake them up. Any other paths you would recommend I explore? Thanks!
It should be noted that the weight sensors in the passenger seat will need to be calibrated with a PIWIS system.
Until then, the passenger airbag OFF light will be remain illuminated. Supposedly 30 min labor at a dealer or indy with the system but they effectively need to teach the sensors their empty weight and the weight required to enable the airbag for a passenger.
I found a document from Porsche about the procedure that states the seat should be ~14lbs empty and ~106lbs with passenger, with a tolerance of (+/-) 25%.
Meaning a minimum of a 80lb person sat in the passenger seat is required to enable the airbag once calibrated correctly.

Now I know that both a Lightweight Bucket and a Sport Bucket seat exist.
Always assumed a "LWB" was the only option.
Curious if the Sport Bucket are rarer/more valuable due to behind seat storage access or passenger ingress on a GTS or Carrera.
I only see the non-folding LWB on the auction sites and RL Marketplace ads- and those are exuberantly priced, and sold.

The US only got the folding buckets on the 997 GT cars. The lightweight buckets were only available with the clubsport package, which wasn’t available here.

FYI, the title of the thread referred to the: ROW 997 GT2 drivers seat. That is what was originally ordered. Prior to shipping the seat the vender recommenced purchasing the ROW 991 GT2 because it was cheaper $4350 shipped and included heat. Yes this was an OEM drivers seat only. It is plug and play for my 997.2 Carrera S with the Aerokit.
The Carrera S was replace with a 718 GT4 RS
I now find myself looking for another, this time around a 997 GTS 6 speed manual with an Aerokit.
No worries, now please help me find that elusive 997 GTS manual with a factory Aerokit. Been looking for almost two years and I found two for sale one a GTS 4 @ $139k and another GTS @ $125k 😱
My budget is $75k/$100k for a clean low mileage no stories car 👍

Might need to adjust your budget higher and/or lower expectations on condition/mileage. Most "clean low mileage no stories" manual GTS' are going north of $100K.
