996 Group Transplant
Just closed the deal on the purchase of this 2005 Carrera S, after having sold my 996. You might have seen it on eBay; I did initially but the asking price seemed a bit high. I came back to the car as the listing was expiring noting that the dealer would accept a best offer, and after some back and forth, a reasonable price was reached and the deal closed. The car is a late '05 with the upgraded IMS bearing, and it only has 10,700 miles on it. It was sold at The Collection in Miami, and has been serviced there.
Very cool car. And 10,700 miles over almost 15 years? That thing needs some exercise. Unusual to see a black gauge cluster on an S car btw. What color are the brake calipers?
Very nice car, Congratulations. Looked at it on ebay a few times. Stunning color and the GT3 wheels make the car.
This picture is my 3.6 factory aero car. Not sure if the 3.8 differs. Looks like you are missing a few rubber bits. Those should be easy to find.

You're right! Just noticed the missing rubber bumpers on the corners of the decklid and the gasket on the trailing edge. Hello Suncoast....

Calipers are red, but refinishing in yellow would not be a mistake in my opinion.
One of the previous owners of my recently sold 996 had painted the calipers red with a spray bomb, and you know how that always turns out! I disassembled the calipers, stripped the paint and powder coating with an Eastwood product and refinished them with Eastwood's urethane 2-part paint, applied the Porsche decals (sourced from France) and cleared over them with urethane clear. I rebuilt the calipers with a rebuild kit from Ohio Performance Solutions (www.ohioperformancesolutions.com ). They looked amazing....I might go there with the 997 calipers...
