Default VS Forged wheels? And Seller?

I'm interested in some VS Forged VS01 wheels but I haven't seen much chatter about the company and wheel quality. Can anyone recommend a seller?

Cookie cutter (I mean literally, but just out of metal) derivative wheel company out there. Likely little to no testing ever done on wheels, may not have support if something bad happens. There's a reason there's no information.

In terms of reputable - BBS, HRE, Apex are way up there. 1552 is also not bad.

They have some nice looking designs. Contact them and see if they're made with US forgings or overseas forgings. Also, see if they're TUV approved in Europe as that requires submitting wheels to them for testing.

I don't see anything particularly unique about the VS01 wheel design where you couldn't get the same thing from multiple other vendors. Those look a lot like OZ wheel styles.

A quote directly from their Instagram: "VS Forged are Truely and Seriouly Tested !"

The 10-spoke design is very common and can be found across almost all of the quality wheel brands like HRE, ANRKY, etc. Here's a look at HRE P43SC's on a 997 Turbo for reference.

They really have the spelling errors in their formal company instagram post? Not too fond of that corporate image portrayal. Where is their manufacturing located and the company HQs?

I copied & pasted straight from their IG bio. I'm not entirely sure where they are manufactured but I'd bet somewhere other than the U.S. or Germany.

With the collaboration of Vertini and Stance Wheels, we bring you our interpretation of the modern wheel design, made using T6061 Alluminum.
Like I mentioned, cookie cutter socal wheel factory stuff. Cast probably in china, forged wheels likely someone like MHT.

Was thinking the same thing. Never heard of this company and I thought I had a fairly good idea of the reputable forged wheel manufacturers. Incidentally, the wheels pictured on the turbo are almost identical to my current Forgelines. Not sure if those are VS products or not.

To the OP: What's the price of a set of four of the VS wheels you're eying? Good quality forged wheels aren't cheap but if they are, chances are there's a good reason for it. Price for a set of four from the most reputable forged wheel manufacturers seem to hover around $6K and is pretty consistent with a few exceptions on the high side. BBS comes to mind.

I've sent them an email; it's generally telling if they don't respond... But it's still a little soon.

The four wheel price at most resellers is about $2.5K.

Those can't be truly forged wheels at that price point. Likely one of the other terms used to mask the real construction method like "flow-forged", "rotary forged" etc which are really just different names for low pressure cast. Not that there's anything really wrong with a low pressure cast wheel for street use on a light car like the 997. They won't be as light or as strong, but at 1/2 to 1/3 the price, that's OK in the right use case. I particularly like it when wheel companies that don't even offer truly forged construction wheels actually put forged in their name, Forgestar being the best example I can think of off the top of my head.

Well there is also TITAN7 which is fully forged and around the same pricepoint too roughly 19" $2620/set

For example:

Finishes available: Iriidium Silver and Hybrid Dark Machine as well as custom available

Nice options. I'm assuming those are made with non-US forgings at that price point? Chinese, Korean?

They are indeed produced in China and are a high quality product. Cant always say that but this is a unique situation and we have quite a few customers who track on Titan7.

Keep mind variables such as Tensile Strength, Elongation, and Hardness are some critical data points when analyzing forged aluminium. APP forgings are utilized by premium wheel manufacturers and feature strengthening higher than your typical 6061 T6 aluminium and thus the larger price point.

These wheels may very well perform to your needs, but this may explain the price difference from other manufacturers.
