Default Porsche tre foam seal leakage.

There was a thread talking about the tire foam canister leaking and made a real mess in the frunk. Because of that, I checked mine today and sure enough, my was leaking. Fortunately the canister in sealed inside a plastic bag and it spilled, but was contained within the bag. I hate to imagine having to clean up that mess if it wasn't inside the the bag.
My is a 2009 997.2 CS2 and I never checked it until today. Just a heads-up. Wonder if these expired canister are prone to spilling. Regardless, I never plan to use that gooey foam even if I had a flat, so it went to the trash and I wouldn't even bother replacing it.

Good call. I'm going to throw away my originals today too since they're from 05. I carry a plug kit in each car and anything I can't plug shouldn't be driven on anyway.

Thanks for the heads up. I am going to go check mine too. I am sure it is bad as I drive a 2009 in the Texas heat.

I use the Dynaplug Ultralite Extreme.

Dynaplug Ultralite Xtreme Tubeless Tire Repair Tool Kit - 4 PLUGS and LARGE END CAP

Amazon Amazon

Everything fits into the small handle and the end cap is wide and flat so you have a good surface to push on when reaming the hole and then inserting the special plug. Takes up about the size of your fist in the toolkit or glove box, or wherever you keep your spares. Will easily fit in the front holder in place of the sealant bottle.

I have a 2012 911S that leaked in the trunk, too, before I purchased our car. Any suggestions on cleaning up the inside panels underneath the canister. BTW, It is a new one. I'll get rid of it once I get the Dynaplug tire repair tool kit.
Many thanks for the insights...

Best,

Al

Remember, as I have heard, the foam tire sealant only lasts for 3-5 years and expires and needs replacement over time
