Question Lighted door sill plates not working

Porsche 997, 2011 Cab 4S

Just purchased this car, the lighted door sill plates are not working.

Is there a switch to activate them? Any suggestions how to diagnosis the problem?

It's also possible someone purchased them not realizing the amount of time it takes to properly wire them so I would first check to make sure they're even wired.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my problem

I am pretty sure they were installed at the factory. This particular car has lots and lots of options. The original owner told me the only thing it does not have is the ceramic brakes. I think he is exaggerating a bit. You know how Porsche is, the options list goes on forever. I will try to access the underside and see if I can see the connections. I would welcome any other ideas!

Thank you EG

Bob

How old is your battery. When you start having odd electrical issues in 997s in systems that aren't really related, its often that the battery is old and not supplying proper voltage.

I bring it up because you have both this door sill issue and the A/C issue.

There is no switch or seperate fuse. If the little red lights work on the doors the sill should light up. If the lights on the door do not work check the fuse.

You can look up your build to see if they were installed at the factory.

I was told the battery is about 6 months old

The driver's side door light does not light. The passenger side door light work.

i assume the fuse is not the issue since the right door light works.
Is this a valid assumption?

Start simple and check the fuse.

Not sure what fuse. I have gone through the owners manual and don't see a layout of the fuses
