Default Red Leather Interior

I am a returning Rennlist member looking for advice. I am considering buying a 2008 911 Turbo, silver exterior, red leather interior. It looks like a great car but I haven’t seen many with this combination and am concerned that I may have an issue on resale later due to the red interior. Appreciate your advice.

I think red is BEAUTIFUL but I would never buy a car with a red interior. I just can't pull it off. It's especially pretty with aluminum accents. I think when you go to sell the car it will take some extra time to find the right buyer who loves it as much as you do. But it will sell at some point. When I was shopping I noticed cars with terracotta and red were usually priced lower too.

Agree regarding red interior. Not a fan and would pass personally. A deal breaker. However to each their own.

I see a lot of 997's, 991's w/red leather interior sit a long time for sale - It's a tough color to sell so just remember that.
IMO the newer red interior colors are too light in color and just don't cut it. - I'd never buy one.
I liked the darker red that was sold back in the 1950/1960's 356's and 1960's early 911's - Was a nice deeper wine red which looked rich with silver or white exterior

Look at the red in person. The red and blue interior I see on line in pictures always looks off. But in person they appear darker.

Clearly an opportunity to negotiate the car further as RED interior cars seems to stay unsold longer.

Silver over red is a classic combo that Porsche and Mercedes have done for years. But it's not popular with the younger buyers these days so resale will be an issue.

Background. I remember sitting in Porsches at the local dealer back in the 80's when I was in grad school. Fast forward nearly 40 yrs when I finally pulled the trigger. Guess what car spoke to me? A black 6MT with Carrera red interior. Love it and don't care about resale. Buy it if you keep your cars a long time but pass if you think you'll flip it. Here's my beauty.

I think red is awesome. I had it on my 2013 Jeep Rubicon 10th anniversary and the seats were just gorgeous.

I believe the problem with porsche, is that instead of having red seats with the rest black leather with red stitching, then went red with the doors, A pillar and dash also red. That has got to be somewhat blinding in sunlight, almost overwhelming and unpleasant to drive, especially on a cab with top down. But I am just assuming that.

I like red also, but all red is too much. It has to be broken up with black or something. I have found a couple of cars I was interested in but the red was just too much. Wife hated it too, so no matter how good the deal.....well maybe if it was that good.

Carrera red interior is not for everyone. It’s way too red everywhere. Mine is also red as red interior is very popular and loved at my part of the world.
you can reduce the red using black floor mats, black steering wheel, maybe black bucket seats etc. I got the car used and focused on only the mechanical condition and price. I was not picky on having very specific options and I drive my cars like they are meant to be driven so don’t care about resale either.

There is a lady in our local PCA chapter that has a silver and red cabriolet. It looks really nice, but yea it takes the right kind of person to own one.

This.

A silver exterior with red interior, black accents, sport seats, and carbon fiber trim is a great looking interior.

You'll want the darker dash (like dasams) if you go this way. Everyone with a light reflective color on the dash ends up really disliking it.

Back in 2009, Porsche offered two tone interiors that were black / stone grey, black / sand beige and black / terracotta but they did not offer black / carrera red. If that's what you wanted, you had to do it with exclusive options (like mine).
