I just had the headers on my 928 motor coated with Ceratec (the same stuff used on firearms) that the powder coater said will hold up just fine.



If you go the polishing route, I've tried all kinds of metal polish (Mothers, Autosol, etc) and the best one, hands down, is sharkyde.

Took these Cayenne cat bypass pipes from this to this






Put a Mothers foam polishing cone on a drill and go to work. The above was 30 minutes.



Took my 928 Y-pipe from this to this. In the first picture below I had already started working on the cleaner side. The crap on there is burned on oil from the engine leaking. On that one I first hit it with a wire wheel, then the sharkyde polish, then wiped on sharkhyde protectant.

Sharkhide is not readily available in NZ, the one that is widely sold is Autosol. Nice if you've got the tools (and space!).

 

So I have this laying around and thought would give it a try on the tips



And this is the result. While not looking like new at least the crazing has gone, now we can see spots on the right side of the tips shown below.

 

FWIW, I just had FD Motorsports Ceramic coat a set for me. I like the flat black look better but to each his own.

I'm not seeing any of them. On other threads yes. doesn't matter what browser I use either. V odd.

 

Try using 4G (or different network) on an incognito window, see what happens.

If you 'Inspect' the page, do you see any error. Search for 'srcset' in the source code of the page, copy and paste the url of the picture that doesn't show up into a new window.

I had mine chrome plated in black chrome. $50 total cost. They are gloss black and perfect. Over a year and no problems.
