Default 997.2 PSE

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to figure out if the PSE is worth the money or not, in the sense that beside the louder noise, there is any performances improvement?
Thanks,
Riccardo

Not worth it. I have it from factory and it doesnt sound significantly different. If you made an addition now it would cost $2700 more or less. I would spend that money for something better if you want louder sound get x pipe

I have it and can definitely tell a difference. If you find a car without it, get the fister mod and if not enough, do a center bypass.

Added it on my 06S and loved it. Added it to my 09S, a wast of money, without a center pipe change. Just not t(e same full sound.
better than standard, but, not worth the extra money. Get a fister or a freer center pipe.

For an old used car like 997 generation.. its worth it if the car already has it and you're paying 0 dollars. It would be kinda crazy to pay to have it added to the car. There are better valved systems out there. I'm glad my car came with it but I wouldn't spend even $300 for it.

Yeah I think you'd be better off doing a gundo hack or the like.

I am an idiot. I had pse added to my 12 C2S (that I have owned since new) with Sharkwerks crossover and I really love it. Yes it costs too much, but I can’t wipe the smile off my face. It gave the car a new life for me.

PSE is a great option - Everyone tries to match the sound and fail greatly
I've had PSE on my 996C4S and my current 997C4S
I never turn it off and sounds incredible

For me it's highly dependent on whether you're listening from within the cabin, or outside. Here are two clips of my car...

#1 - Inside the cabin, difference between PSE valves off/on is small in person, and damn near impossibly to hear on this video clip

#2 - Same car, from the outside. As you can hear, the difference between on/off is significantly more

Karl.

^^^ nice speedmaster!!

I would look into sharkwerks center bypass and Fister cans coated/painted tips.
videos only kind of get it across but the sound is all subjective too.
In any case, the sound of the car was really not what I was looking for or expected when I got my .1. I do not have a center muffler, so I just got the Fisters. Now the car sounds proper. At some point, I might do headers and etc. but the Fister sounds how the car should sound IMO. With the .2 adding the sharkwerks center bypass makes the .2 sound proper IMO.
I am not sure where you live but if you are anywhere near FD Motorsports, you could get it all done there too.
I have no affiliation with Darrin but I really appreciated his product and service.

Have on 11 cab S. With top down, sport engaged and manually shifting, yes I love it. Especially at higher revs. Top up, no whoopee. Wouldn’t spend money on it if not cab. Better alternatives than PSE.

Definitely a more deeper raw exhaust sports car sound. Love it!
