Really dirty oil pan - RMS?
Went to do my annual oil change and noticed a really dirty oil pan. It was not like this a year ago.
It was not wet and I have not had any drops on the garage floor.
First pic is what it looked like and second is after I wiped it down.
Ideas on what could be the cause?
2005 C2S with 35K miles.

That dark coating just looks to me like the cosmoline Porsche uses to protect metal engine parts. It's kind of a thick coating. Did you have to wipe the pan with some form of cleaner to get it off, or is that the result of wiping with just a rag. The cosmoline takes something to dissolve it.
