Also didn’t know the sport Chrono could tilt left or right, thought I broke it.

LOL - I owned my car for about 6 months before I stumbled on this.

I have had 9:11 on my dash wart for years. I love it because the light stays on as well at night. It is funny but I have hit almost every generation of porsche digit over the years trying to do this.. 911 912 914 917 918 996 986 997 987 964 etc..

It always made me mad if I had to unplug my battery for any reason because the sport chrono resets.
Recently I had to reset it about 3 times in a week due to a weak dying battery. I got it down pretty good now. Best time was getting it in less than 5 tries, but average about 12-20 tries now.
Have it set to 987 in my Cayman S too

The key or helper was mentioned. You get a nice tempo going in your inner clock so you can guess-timate your reaction time from start to stop. I hone in around 8:88 - 8:95. My reaction time averages 12-15 / 100's ... Every time I nail it I do a little celebration!

The most impressive part here, is the immediate reset!
I went for function over form, and did this:

Literally, plug-and-play (if you have the right plug).
Full details here.

Total cost is about USD70, and I've added the parts needed after another question too...
See ya!

Mission accomplished in under 5min! My favorite thing about this “mod” is the cost.

OP, great tip to aim for 8:80... I hit 9:10 three times in a row... then after a few more tries - success.

After countless attempts (a test of your eye-hand coordination and motor dexterity), I did finally nail it too.

Ok. This got me to waste about 10 minutes of my life. Cheapest “upgrade” yet.

Like many, I have had mine set on either 9:11 or 9:97 for a few years always taking between 10-30 tries. However, I needed a new battery so of course the chrono needs to be reset. Battery hooked up and I'm ready to go - 1st try BAM 9:11 - I couldn't believe it, what luck, and I was so surprised by it that I pushed the stalk instead of pulling it and erased it. Another 30 tries later....

Anyone know what the risk is of burning out the LED? Was it meant to stay static for this long? Is this even a concern?

I was timing my drive to work, and decided I'd try for the first time to get 9.11 on the LCD... it took me one try! I nailed it on the first try and this is the first time i've ever tried doing this .. must be the definition of beginners luck.

Now I am wondering, with my luck, if i should shoot for getting 9 hours 11 minutes on the small register, and then 9.11 (or if i miss that, 9.77) on the LCD.

Has it ever been done? You've have to time the chrono for over 9 hours, then you'd get one try for 9.11 and one for 9.77. Guess that'd be the holy grail..
