Thank you. We custom painted it in a pink pearl color. Looks different in different lighting, but really pretty and she loves it.
Liked the pearl effect on that one so much we chose a white pearl when doing the Cayenne project.
Both cars were black on black originally, as that's the best combination to start with when doing a color change so the engine compartments and other small areas either look dark and don't stand out as a 3rd color or so small areas that border the interior that can't be painted blend with the black interior color.

Can't get enough of that cayenne!!
Btw what's the widest tires that will fit the rear of a .2 2s? 295 or will 305 fit?
Mostly i am factoring the .1 4s over the .2 not for the awd but for the 3.8L and wider rear.
I would go for 997.2
Aside from the wider hips on the 4S, everything is a win on the .2 including the DFI 3.6 rwd which should pull as hard if not harder than the older 3.8 with the 4WD and added weight.
I know now everyone says get the .2 due to DFI, no IMS, makes more HP and updated interior. I would set a price limit and go from there. I would be happy with a 997.2 or a 997.1. having owned both.
Personally I couldn’t own a base. Why? I would always be wondering and wanting an S. Granted that would be while stuck in traffic, getting groceries or doing non S stuff. But still wondering.....
What’s your upper limit on your budget? Do you need all wheel drive? How comfortable are you with a car with an IMS? I’d answer those questions first and then proceed.
I owned a 997.2 C4 and later a 997.2 C4S. On had upgraded Bilstein B8 "sport" suspension with lowering springs, and other had the standard PASM (4S). Both were manuals.
There was very little difference in driving situations. I could feel the pull from the stoplight, but on backroads, the power difference was not noticeable. They both had the gorgeous rear end. If power is a concern, then the 991.2 is your car: any of these feel glacial in comparison. The difference between a 997.2 S and 991.2 S is probably 4x the difference between a 997.2 base and 997.2 S; the power issue just didn't seem relevant once I drove the newest gen of cars.
Not the S isn't worth the $7,000 premium, but if the right C4 falls into your lap, don't hesitate to get it. Mine was a GREAT car.
If you need a wider rear, look for a base 4. I got mine for $45 grand with about 32,000 miles, private party, one owner, great shape. That is about what you will find a 997.1 4S for.
