Black Housed 997.2 Tails
Hey all, finished up my project on blacking our the internals of my tails and loved the end result. I do this for a living so I knew what to expect ahead of time. I’m getting increasingly curious to know if this is the worlds first as I have yet to see anyone else do this or even a genuine picture of it on social or here on the forums. Let me know what you think!

Nice work. Hopefully the resealed taillights will remain watertight.
It actually looks very similar to the lightly smoked Dectanes I have on my 997.1, but I understand they don't make these for the .2s like yours - actually Dectane doesn't make the smoked version at all anymore or the completely clear one that they called crystal, just red/white and smoked red/white. I like the smoke because it hides the individual LEDs some and why I also changed my front LEDs to the newer style.

A normal filament bulb will emit light in generally radial pattern, so the reflector is necessary to aim the beam. Alternatively, LEDs usually output light in varying degrees of cone shapes, so the chrome bit is only collecting stray light in whichever direction it was intended.
