Man hang in there.....I feel for you. I’ve never been able to set the 997 seat to help me much but it’s aggravating the hip /sciatica from using the damn clutch, and it’s frigging stiff. I drove a 996 TT manual and I was literally laughing how easy it was. Not my cup of tea either but 90% softer.

I'm sure I have you all beat. After two micro-discectomies and a corpectomy, I ordered my 997S with the Adaptive Sport Seats. Later, Later, I added another spinal fusion. Now fused from T10-L3 and from L5-S1. The seats give me as much relief as anything out there!

The 18 ways are really the best seat out there, with the Full Bucket Seats being almost as good. Only issue is the lack of adjustment but they are basically perfect as is. I am talking about the 918 Full Bucket Seats, not the 997 Sport Buckets, which are good, but just not as good in my experience as the Full Buckets.

Okay I thought my back was a mess. I have had two lower back surgeries and a neck fusion all before I was 40. Now after talking with you guys I feel better about my situation. I understand the issues, but hands down the 18 way seats are the best seats I have ever had. I was worried about the 1700 mile trip bringing my 997.2 to Texas from California, but it was a dream. I can drive all day in the car and still feel relaxed. Most cars after a few hours I feel all beat up. This is also one of the reasons I bought my car now. Give it 20 years and I may not be able to get in and out of it.

Since I have a cab, I can have my nurse open the top and lower me in with a lift no matter how decrepit I become. At least that's the plan.

Holy crap! That is some nasty looking hardware to have in your back! My back has deteriorated from arthritis throughout my spine and old age. But, I'll take that over these other horror stories.

Plus 1 for adaptive Sport seats, got rid of my 92 C2 for lower back pain on long trips for an 06 997S with adaptives and changed my life.
traded the 06 for an 09 997.2 PDK with adaptives and went across the US. It was pure pleasure.
none of my other vehicles comes close for comfort!

My Adaptive Sports Seats A+ but having sports related knee & hip problems for years, I find it difficult to get into my Porsche the way I did when I was 25.
Now I enter car head first, knee on seat and turn sideways as I hold onto door opening/roof edge and center console and swing body around.
Been doing this for longer than I remember but much easier on body.

Just diagnosed with sciatica today. Holy crud this hurts. Been out of work 5 days. Just got steroid pills and pain patch and already feeling better.

Switched from 997 to wife’s cayenne today...gotta say 997 seats better for me.

Yeah, I drove a '18 Cayenne and it was worse for me.

It's really hit and miss on the seats and pain. I ubered in the backseat of some sort of late model GM compact SUV and within minutes, was in a lot of pain.

Between the steroid injections and several weeks of physical therapy, I'm doing better. This getting old stuff sucks.

PDK . . . . Ta Da!! Your Porsche back pain problems solved! I can't hold a candle to all you old farts and I'm thankful I can't. I had a ruptured disk @ L4-5. It was a contained herniation and was thankful no surgery needed. After six months of therapy and 2 injections later, I decided to sell my 1976 Carrera and bought a 2008 997 TT TIP car. I miss the 3.o, but don't miss the leg and *** pain after a longSaturday morning drive.
