Default 991 steering wheel compatibility with 997?

Does anyone know if a 991 steerer is compatible with the 997 (in regard to airbag pin-out) and splines?
I'm about to drop 1200 for an alcantara wheel, figured I'd spend the extra dough for the nicer looking 3-spoke model from the 991 if it'll fit.

If it’s manual and non multifunction or heated, then yes, it’s plug and play. there’s a thread on this here

From what I know, the MF, heating and PDK still work as long as you’re coming from a 997.2 module to a 991.1 wheel, if you’re going to a 991.2 wheel, I think you’ll need a harness adapter from gpsadapter.us

The following has many solutions and is mentioned elsewhere on Rennlist.

The harness and splines are plug and play. Depending on the wheel you may need a 997.2 module if you dont already have it.

What if you have a 997.1 with no MF to a 991.1 w/ MF?

Didnt find the site super intuitive to follow. Could use better UI / navigation. Assumes client knows from forums what harness you need (and if you need it) and then proceeds to offer you to select, effectively, an SKU number... :S

Just installed this today. Pd. $400 for airbag and swapped the multifunction controller buttons for non multifunction and removed paddles. Not a bad investment. Dallas Custom does fantastic work.

I swap out my 997.1 steering wheel with 991 steering wheel with no MF. I removed paddle shifts and ordered a new collar from Suncoast. It was plug and play and no issue with horn.

@Rabbit997 your new wheel looks so classy, it really lifts the vibe of the whole cabin.

Now that I'm looking at the leather I sorta wish I'd had Don wrap it like that. I like the alcantara but leather is going to be less maintenance.
A nicer steering wheel really changes up the driving experience.

I've got a 991 GT 360mm steering wheel for a manual car ready to go if anyone's interested (no PDK shifters, correct non-PDK trim, plug and play). Black with the silver non-MF inserts like above.

One of my favorite changes I since got it rewrapped in Nappa leather.
