This happens because the driver (like many sport car owner wannabes) is a binary OFF/ON driver. This means his input applications are all or nothing, lacking smoothness. As Bruce said - very common, and the driving style of many on the street.

The guy is a pretty hard core club racing fella and has at least reasonable cred. He's also been driving the pace car for years there.
The question I have is about the bonehead move on his part: Why was traction control (PTMS, a high end traction control system regarded as one of the best in the industry) rather obviously turned off?

Link seems to have been hijacked. I watched for a few seconds, then the browser went sheet white and a number of different web sites popped up in rapid succession, then a warning popped up just as I killed it.
