Worrier/Purist. Go between the two. When I am detailing, I am really into it and trying to make it perfect, but with other things having come up in life in the past, I have let a lot of that go and am more of a purist.

Unfortunately, I am a worrier. There are so many expensive things that are potential problems that I would have never considered in an American car. I love the way the car feels and responds, but I'm not enjoying it like I should. I will probably sell it in the fall.

I was a weird *** gear head but the 911 has made me a purist over the past few months of ownership. I think it can be modded a bit but it is the first car I have ever had that is pretty much perfect besides a few OEM+ mods that just do away with the US standards of gentling down imports.

Neither. This is my 6th? 911 over the years after a 10 year hiatus. It gets driven 3-4 times a week, and I treat her just like I treat my other cars....like a fun utility. Do I have a garage queen, yes. Do I have a daily driver with some paperwork thrown in the back seat and dog hair in the carpet, yes. The 911 is somewhere in between.

Pure purist. Too much fun to drive not to do it every day. I know a guy in Europe who has a red 2007 997S with about 300 miles on it last I heard. I've asked him several times if he doesn't miss driving it. The answer is always yes but he's quick to add that each mile put on the car diminishes the value of it. I can't even get remotely close to that kind of thinking but there are all kinds.

Kind of a hybrid. Purist. Except for the clean part unless you count leaving it out in the rain. Once a year I'll take it out of commission and detail it. A little worrier mixed in. I do like looking for the best oil, but always end up buying whatever Walmart has. Same with cleaning products. Always looking for the best but again end up at Walmart buying cleaning supplies.

"end up at walmart" hahaha

Thank God Walmart sells 5qt jugs of Mobil 1 0w-40 "Eurpean Car Formula" for about $22 bucks, Macquire's cleaning products and microfiber towels 12pack for $cheap... Why do I know this???
If you are ever at walmart trying to beat some one from grabbing the last 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 0w-40... It just might be me!

Glad everyone is enjoying this thread! I'm thinking another group might need to be added ... "Social Media Warrior" (may seem a bit harsh), but there are a lot of folks out their that seem to spend an inordinate amount of time commenting on other's posts and all the things that can go wrong and not driving their Porsche's (or detailing them).

Wild-*** Gear Head.

My 997S is more of the purist stand point, H&R springs, fabspeed exhaust with plans for IPD Plenum and such but keeping the car as mostly stock as I can stand.

The 996 on the other hand is a pure 1-off widebody flare conversion I made with an LS1 swap for SEMA 2017 that I placed in Top 10 Young Guns Battle of the Builders and Top 40 overall Battle of the Builders. But each car has its merits along with the track dedicated E36. So I'm part purist, part Wild-*** Gearhead.

Signature has all the cars

I can't say I fit into any specific one really. I've always pride myself on NOT fitting in to specific "groups" or "clicks" in Any form of life. I like to do my own thing and get along with ALL.

Maybe the Worrier, but not for the reason's given in the OP's post. More about protecting my investment. I always think of possible Resale.

I would love to say Purist but I've loved All exotic cars since I could read, but Porsche (928 & 911) always grabbed my attention.

Fact is, I'd drive my Porsche everyday if I had the need for a daily driver (I'm in my cruiser all day) and I would drive it wether anyone saw me in it or not. I like having a nice car but I'm FAR from a "Poser".

I'm ALL about performance but love the looks as well. Performance is what makes me tick though. That's why my vehicles / motorcycles have always stayed mostly "Stock Looking" or completely stock with some fairly awesome go-fast mods. Or completely stock and Still out-drive / out-ride others with modded cars / motorcycles.

I've always let my driving / riding speak for itself.
